Hotel Djingis Khan

We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Djingis Khan during a vacation in Sweden. The facilities were great, the room very clean and spacious. Staff at the Hotel were very friendly and accommodating. The "lite buffet' in the evening was a full meal. I felt that this was a great value as a stop and in view of the prices in the Scandinavian countries a fantastic buy.

Dont let the name throw you off. A decorating theme really. Nice room with leather furniture, heavy drapes to keep sun out, helpful staff, good food and the price was the surprise-very reasonable. We had had several different experiences in accomnmnodation on this trip so to walk in here and have something more luxurious and familiar to our north Americasn experience was perfect-felt spoilt. Laundry (just needed detergent) facilities were much appreciated. You need to book time ahead for this. Coffee and tea always avaulable. Snacks from 4 am to 7am if you have early start. Breakfast from 7-11. Hot and cold stuff for all tastes. Dinner early from 4-8 so often not there.. Parking free and right next door a real plus in Europe. After midnight bar across entrance to parking and front door locked but buzzer brings help.Newspapers available to see what happening in world if you feel the need.

Room was a good size, shower room likewise. Excellent selection of toiletries supplied, including toothbrush and comb and even slippers! The hotel offers a buffet style evening meal from 6-8pm which is excellent value as long as you don't mind the fixed choice menu (that's the quirky bit). A la carte is available from 8pm. Tea & coffee making available in rooms. Excellent selection of newspapers (one in English) and magazines, if you fancy brushing up your Swedish. It's in a quiet area, on a bus route, within walking distance of the city centre, near the university, and has free parking.

I read about this hotel on trip advisor before booking into it and expected it to be a lot worse than it is, so I thought I'd write this to ensure others don't get the wrong impression. I have found the hotel terrific. The rooms are dated but more than adequate and the bed comfortable. Great shower, lovely outlook from my room to a garden and as it was on the ground floor I could open the door for fresh air, birdsong and the sound of the fountain. The food - breadkfast and dinner - was included in the price and was better than reasonable. Very generous with fruit, tea and coffee available at all times. Great staff and bikes to borrow if you can get one. Internet access and printing free of charge as well.

I would recommend this hotel highly. I can't think of anything more I would ask for. So I've had an enjoyable stay and the hotel more than met my needs.

Room Tip: ground floor at the rear are lovely with direct access and a screened courtyard. Possible to hear pe...

The hotel is nice and has a parking lot on the back. Internet is accessible free of charge. Breakfast is good with ample choice of food. Dinner is included in the hotel rate. It is in the suburb of the city but you can walk downtown in 20-30 minutes. There is also the bus nr. 3 which takes you to the city.
Compared to other hotels in Europe of the same cathegory is very expensive but usually in that area also other hotels are expensive

This is a fairly large hotel situated on the outskirts of Lund. Buffet dinner (served 18.00 - 20.00) is included in the room cost.
Parking is available, but if the hotel is full it is insufficient.
The rooms are not huge but comfortable. However they are extremely hot and in some rooms the windows cannot be opened enough to get good fresh air circulation.
The food is OK, but when the hotel is full (as it was when we stayed there) many items run out and you end of standing around waiting. We have stayed here before and there was a good selection in the buffet but this time it was soup, fish, potatoes and salad only. Soup was quite watery (but I hasted to add it tasted good) so it would not be enough for your main meal of the day. But if you don't like fish (which we heard many did not) then you would end up with only salad.
Breakfast had a similar problem.
The hotel seems to be used mainly for visitors to the university (not students!), teaching hospital and Sony Ericsson - all are close(ish) by.
There are good facilities for longer stays (most seem to stay 2 - 4 weeks) such as gym and games room.
We got charged for an additional room (in error) and promised the cost would be repaid onto the card straight away. It has been well over a week now and no money has been repaid. So keep an eye on the money transactions if you pay by card.
It is in a good spot for us for our return journey to the UK so we will probably be back, knowing their limitations are key.

This hotel is excellent value for money with an extremely good breakfast buffet. Ignore the hotel's handbook which offers a limited breakfast - there was ample! The inclusive evening buffet offers a soup starter and only one main course. I found the soup inedible each evening and, due to me not eating meat, was left hungry on the second night!
The staff are incredibly helpful and one girl in particular was always so cheerful, even when she nearly scalded herself with boiling water!

If you aren't a fussy eater then this hotel is well worth a stay. Free parking also.

Room Tip: This hotel is in a quiet, residential area so I wasn't aware of any noise of an evening. I think...
