“Weekend break”
Reviewed January 31, 2013 via mobile

When we arrived check-in went nice & smoothly, got given a key with a key ring which looked and weighed like a medieval weapon :-)...Our room 124 was miles away, we'll it was the room at the end of a very long corridor. The room was in the need of a little more modern furniture, but large it was, huge one could or would say.... I liked it, 890kr a night was a little to high, but being in the centre of town I guess it was OK. Breakfast was standard, no complaints, no complements... Every thing was great but not brilliant. 8 out of 10 because the service for Sweden was very good... Try it!

This is a very nice hotel, a bit quaint but so be it. The room was large and comfortable. Free internet and BBC World available. Excellent service at the front desk. My only complaint would be the breakfast, where selection was a tad limited; more to the point, coffee was pretty bad. The hotel is well-situated, and very easy access from the train station. Very quiet. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay.

Situated in a historic building, the Stads Hotellet is offering good accomodation. My room had a nice wooden floor and a good bed, also a large bathroom. Breakfast was good and included, so was internet access. The hotel is located 2 mins from the station.

Nice rooms with good facilities - writing desk and 2 armchairs are above standard for a three star hotel. Great breakfast. Free coffee in the evening.
Room view on backyard, but probably better than previous reviewer who had to live with drunken youngsters :-)

All you could want for a quick weekend break. Old-school rooms, ours had a huge bathtub, very nice. Side street seems to be the way home for drunk youngsters, so avoid. Hotel just on one floor of this old building - the Odd Fellows were having a shindig downstairs, as it is a Freemason Building... Breakfast buffet fine Scandinavian standard. Would return.

Room Tip: Avoid side street on weekends, seek courtyard

We stayed in the Stads hotel in May whilst on a short break to Sweden.

Firstly, the location. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the railway station from where there are frequent trains fromMalmo and Copenhagen. The main shopping area of Kristianstad is a minutes walk.

The hotel itself is pleasant enough, the reception area is welcoming and the staff are very friendly. Tip: This hotel asks for payment on arrival at the hotel for the full amount of the stay, not at the end.

There is no bar / restaurant at the hotel save for the breakfast area although there is a bar next door.

The rooms are fairly well proportioned but be warned, one side of the hotel backs faces a street which has a nightclub on it. The noise from this is very very loud and even with the window shut (there is no double glazing) it is still disturbing and on Friday / Saturday nights can prevent a good sleep (it did with us)

if you request a double room, whilst the bed is technically a double there are 2 single matresses on it with 2 single quilts which can take a while to get used to.

All of the rooms have a showe, not a bath.

There is also a sauna in this hotel but we didn't use it so can't pass comment. Likewise as we arrived by train i am not sure of the parking arrangements.

All in all, if you want a reasonable hotel then this is a fair choice.
