Friday night, staying at footprints 'family' orientated resort. Big group (15 - 20) shrieking, pi**ed up bogans next door, rules are that there is no tolerating of noisy groups after 10. It's now almost half past and no signs of wrapping up. Our 6 year old had to be cuddled to sleep as he was so frightened as to what is going on - whooping, screaming, arguing and blokes shouting. Feel like I'm 'roughing it', just without the tent! So much for a relaxing family weekend.

Lovely place to get away from it all, stayed in a beach shack, beautiful, modern and clean besides a couple of dirty dishes in the dishwasher that had an out of order sign on it. The cafe/restaurant is a winner, the food was awesome and even served to us by the chef as it was quiet at the time. Great value for money all round. Will be back again in the very near future! Highly recommend!!

Stayed there for a couple of nights in October 2012. Beach shacks are fine. Four bunk beds downstairs, nice little deck with bbq. 'Master' bedroom & shower upstairs. All simple, but done well. Two pools, one (little one) is heated, while the other is larger and is not heated - wakes you up!

Location is great, beach driving and beach in general is excellent. Stand out of the resort, though, is the food, and overall friendly service.

Everything that came out of the kitchen - from the thin pizzas with fresh toppings, specials of the day, thick juicy steaks, burgers filled with fresh salads, grilled barramundi, and fresh calamari. All absolutely delicious. I would drive there just to dine.

Three glasses of wine, one beer, two main meals, one Greek salad, and two kids meals, $92. Left $10 tip.

Room Tip: B-18. Right next to the pool, but really they are all near everything.

What was requested and confirmed at the time of booking was not made available to us. The staff at the front counter need to have training on customer service. New manager has commenced, lets hope that the service improves to be as good as the facilities.

I stayed at footprints for 4 nights. The beach shack was very nice but I was very disappointed that he pool was not heated as advertised. It was just too cold for my children to swim in. The heated pool was the main reason I chose to holiday there.

I booked a beach shack at Footprints to give my husband a break for the weekend of Fathers' Day. It was very disappointing to arrive on a Friday night to accommodation that had not been cleaned - the floor had not been vacuumed as there were balls of fluff, etc in the kitchen and lounge area. I wiped the fridge door clean because you could feel it sticky when opening and I also washed the cutlery and wiped out the cutlery drawer because it was full of crumbs and I felt it was not clean enough to use. The shower recess had mould in the corners, something that does not appear overnight. There was a dirty towel still hanging in the downstairs toilet from the previous occupants! The BBQ was dirty and to add insult to injury we read the notices in the kitchen that $25 would be debited to our credit card if the kitchen and BBQ were not left clean! Not what you expect when you arrive at dirty accommodation. There was no cleaning equipment under the BBQ as stated in the kitchen notice. Very, very sloppy management - the shack could not have been checked, and if it had, that makes it worse! On check-out the receptionist did not enquire if we enjoyed our stay (as is usual at hotels, etc), so I thought it pointless to voice my grievances as it all smacked of a management that did not care less. We did not however, let the disappointing accommodation spoil our weekend and enjoyed locally grown fresh fruit in Harvey, the Old Coast Brewery and wine tasting at Vineyard 28 nearby.

Room Tip: The dining table and chairs only seats 4 people, when the room sleeps 6!!! There is no oven and the...

Would recommend Footprints to anyone with kids. Very child friendly, as there are no cars near the shacks/townhouses, so they can wander along the pathways in safety. The accommodation is very reasonably priced for the standard provided. Close to the beach and good location for bushwalking as the lakes are a short drive away. Will definitely be staying there again.
