“Small rooms but nice and clean”
Reviewed October 19, 2012 via mobile

I had a single room and stayed one night and found the hotel absolutely perfect with all what you need if travelling alone. Perfectly located. Clean. Comfortable bed. Nice staff and friendly atmosphere.

We approached Hotell Hudik with a degree of caution after reading some of the Trip Advisor reviews, but our experience was largely very positive. We paid a small premium for a business room which had a good floor area and included a minibar, television, coffee/tea making facilities and an iron. There was an entrance vestibule which gave access to the shower room and provided a site for storing luggage out of the way. The bed was large; the linen clean. More towels were available should we have needed them.
On the downside, the room sloped down to thigh height under the eaves of the building from about a third of the room's width. This provided too much of a challenge for my six foot-plus bulk to sleep on my usual side of the bed. Even my (shorter) wife kept having a meeting of minds with the ceiling in that part of the room. The lighting was a little idiosyncratic with the bedside lights so dim that they had to be pulled close to the bed to allow late night reading.
Breakfast was good, of large variety and a plentiful supply which was constantly attended and replenished by a lady who plainly delighted in the display being "just so". As noted elsewhere, evening meals need to be taken in a restaurant and there is a decent one nearby.
Our welcome was friendly and efficient. The staff seemed happy to please pointing us at restaurants and things to see during our one night, rain-soaked, stay.

Room Tip: Upgrade to business.

We stayed here for 3 days; and we liked the hotel. inspite of small room, small bath rooms and no frills, we liked our stay at this hotel. Buffet brekfast was good and staff was very very cordial. Good experience.

Small room for sure but once you learn to use an ironing board this size you can probably learn how to iron on you laptop. The facilities are not great, small TV and no Gym. But people are very helpful. Unfortunately there simply is not too much too chose from in the area so consider it a fair choice and make the best of it. Good part is that many of the available restaurants and shops are in close walking distance. Hence overall a reasonably experience.

Room Tip: Plan to go out and enjoy the nice and close area around.

Small rooms. Tv could not be turned towards bed (the thing between the wall and TV was to small for this size....)
Could in the room and I woke up with a sore throught. All elements were on max btw.
Could barely move inside bathroom. Floor was to cold to walk on even with socks on. So no I have 3 towels there..!

Bed and pillow was not top notch or close to standard.

Breakfast was quite boring and didn´t feel so fresh. They had 2 different types of cheese and both had gone hard all over it. "Fresch" fruit had dryed.
The milk to use for cereals were worm.

Worst of all, 07:00 constuctionworkers started and probably woke up the neighbourhood.

I have now tried both this and first hotell. First hotell is way much better and even cheaper (difference around 20e per night).

I stay in hotels around 1 day per week due to my job.

Been staying in Hotel Hudik a nuber of times now and I am very happy with my stays there. On the other hand I mainly value a good bed, breakfast and occasionally a good dinner place. Hotel Hudik fulfill the first two but fail on the restaurant. Make sure you have eaten when you come late. If not you have Medelhavskällaren down the road on the right.

The hotel is centrally located in Hudiksvall. Due to the fact there are only 2 hotels in this city (Stat Hotell and Best Western Hudik) I have chosen a few days stay in this hotel. From the outside it looks pretty OK, but once entering the lobby one immediately gets a feeling that everything is pretty small.

Entering the room was the worst shock. I have stayed in many hotels in my life, and also in many Best Westerns. But this must have been the smallest rooms I have ever seen. The room was around 8 square meters, which just fit a small 1 persons bed (you should not be larger than the average Swedish person!) and one small desk. The bathroom was very inexpensively fitted. The toilet looked very overdated..

Nevertheless, the bed and room were pretty clean.

Staff, was friendly though, but unwilling to give a double-room. In their opinion it was fully booked, but as I heard later on this was not the case!

Overall, if you require some space and more comfort I do not recommend this hotel! Even the price was extremely high (950SEK, around 100EURO) for 1 night! In other parts of Europe this hotel will not stay open for long!
