While many other restaurants and pubs were overflowing with people, it was a delight to find this place - a nice, quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle. The food was good, the service was reasonably friendly. Nothing to write home about but a decent escape for a decent meal.

Had an awful experience at Zio Peppe. Staff were running around clueless throughout, staff were arguing about where to place customers which was obviously hugely offputting.

The food itself was really awful, the chicken was clearly not even remotely fresh and was bland and chewy, and the pasta and sauce was similar, which should not be the case as not only is this an italian restaurant it was also an incredibly simple dish to prepare. The pizza was poor quality, doughy and soggy on the bottom and was both wholly unauthentic and tasteless.

Not only was the food poor but it was massively overpriced at £14 plus for the milanese chicken, which I would have not minded in the slightest if it was prepapred and cooked reasonably well.

Do avoid as there are both fine dining and more reasonable restaurants right on the door step that have good quality and well priced food.

Quick visit, but nice pizza and a bottle of Peroni for £7.95. No brainer. Recommended. Would definately return.

I went to zio peppe yesterday for dinner, wasn't my first time there and i will definitely come back again! My lasagna was really tasty and amazing and my partner ordered spaghetti carbonara. I didn't do any pictures because we where to busy eating our delicious meal. The staff is really nice.

Four friends and I were looking for a place that would serve a good breakfast to help us through a slightly hungover Sunday morning. We chanced across Zio Peppe as a waiter approached us whilst we were walking past and invited us to sit down and try their 'mega breakfast'. Meagre breakfast would have been more accurate.

We ordered latte's but I can only presume they took the order down wrong as we were served sour, cold and weak coffee-flavoured milkshakes. They were so unpleasant we couldn't finish them.

The breakfast was worse. Microwaved sausages, cold beans, stringy bacon, greasy mushrooms in tiny quantities were dropped in front of us. There was significantly more empty space on the plate than food.

When we got the bill we were staggered. £85 for a breakfast between 5 people that we could have got and prepared from an Iceland for about £8.50. That they had the audacity to charge us so much for such a puny amount of abhorrent food is an outrage.

To give you an idea of the sort of costs they were charging here, a small glass of concentrated orange juice was a whopping £3.05.

To add insult to injury they had the audacity to stick on a service charge of £7.00, which was staggering as the food had been very slow and the service inattentive and basic at best.

Absolutely fuming. Avoid this place like the plague.
