I had one of my best meals ever at this restaurant. Fortunately for us we ended going there on a slow night, the food and service was top notch. If you want to experience a great home cooked Italian meal prepared with real pride and dedication, don't miss this little gem.
Can't wait to visit again.

Had the pleasure of eating here a second time when we visited the area again in Oct 2013. It can get busy on a saturday night so be sure to make a reservation. The menu was slightly different from what we had back in April 2013. However, every course was excellently prepared, wine selection was top, and the staff was attentive, professional, and friendly. Truly a wonderful place to spend my birthday. Thank you for an excellent dinner and night! Grazie mille

If you are in the region for truffle season, as my wife and I have been for the past many years (close to 10), then make some room (both in your timetable and your stomach) for lunch at La Sosta. While there are many prettier villages than Montabone in the region and the restaurant's decor is non-descript, the food and hospitality will more than make up for it.

Don't be put off by the absence of a menu and embrace the experience in full: invite Luca the owner to take the lead, and he will take care of you like no other host. the food is simple, genuine, you can always tell what it is that you are eating, and it tastes great.

The wines are fairly priced, and you can buy truffle from Luca at 30% less price than at La Morra in Alba.

Recommended, both as a repeat destination for Italians who are there for the food, and also as a different type of 'wow factor' for foreigners wanting to experience local hospitality.

We would have never found this amazing restaurant if our hotel did not recommend it, and we are so happy they did. The entire experience was unforgettable. There is no menu but in case there are dietary restrictions, the chef, who is the wife of the owner, easily adjusts the dishes. You reserve a table and it's yours for the entire night as this seven course meal experience is worth to stretch for as long as possible. The owner brings you one course at the time and makes sure you like every dish. We had a vegetarian and a pregnant girl in our group and we both were extremely well accommodated. I cannot even explain how delicious all the meals were, from appetizers, to cheeses, to main courses to incredible desserts. And even before receiving the bill, we voted this to be the best restaurant we have ever eaten at. Honestly, the bill was a quarter of what we had expected so we booked the reservation for the following night and enjoyed the second evening even more. Living in Switzerland, we are only 4 hours away and look forward to going back for a weekend getaway to Montabone and to our favorite restaurant.
