Experience a magnificent church and an architectural masterpiece. 1000 Years of Danish history are gathered here under beautifully decorated vaults and in dark crypts. “Royals aplenty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014

This was a fascinating experience; seeing the graves and gravestones of many of the Danish monarchy over the centuries, seeing the hole they are currently working on for the current queen and her consort (a bit creepy really), as well as the lovely architecture of the building, was really worthwhile.

“Fantastic basilica”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014

A must see in Denmark.
The very first church on this site was built by King Harald Blaatand in the year 980 during the viking age.
The Danish kings are buried in this huge church seen many miles away.

“Beautiful and historic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

I am not a church aficionado but I enjoyed touring this church. A lot of kings and queens are buried here. I enjoyed the art in the church the most. There are some really wonderful pieces here, both modern and more classical. Worth a visit.

“Beautiful cathedral”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2014

Roskilde cathedral is definitely worth visiting. It's a beautiful church and the royal tombs are fascinating. The frescoes in the Chapel of the Magi are gorgeous and worth a visit on their own. Also good to be in the cathedral on the hour when the mechanical clock comes into its own.
