This museum displays artefacts from the area of Roskilde: archaological findings from the stoneage to present day. It is a local glimps of Danish history and since it is situated only 200 meters from the big Cathedral it was easy to swing by when visiting the church.
There is a prehistoric exhibition with stone tools and an aurochs. Bronzeage and Ironage artifacts - like the famous Odin figure. A Viking funeral with a strange warroir woman and her slave.
There's also an exhibition of toys and clothing from the 19th century.
The medieval exhibition holds graves, books and coins from that period, where Roskilde was among the most important cities in Denmark and the religious center of the country (which is why the city had 14 churches and 9 monasteries).
