The most impressive is rich decoration and huge collection of portraits of Danish kings. Before you visit the castle it is useful to read about Danish history and remember at least some kings and queens. Come early, before the castle is filled with tourists. There is a small exhibition for kids in the basement.
Even if you have a map of the castle, the route is quite complicated with many passes and stairs; you will probably visit some rooms twice on the route. You will spend at least 2.5 hours inside, plus 1 hour outside, in the park.
