One of the best hostel's I've ever been to! Staff was great and helpful, the atmosphere was relaxed and warm and me and my friend's just enjoyed our stay very much. We slept in a 10-bed-dorm, and it was clean and the beds were sooo comfortable! There were safe lockers in the rooms and also in the basement if you wanted to leave your baggage there while you were away.
There's a bar in the lobby, many tables and couches, a kitchen for everyone's use, a foosball table... a lot of things to do, and the people who stayed there were something around 18-30 years old, so that was a plus because I'm young, too.
One of the best things was that Downtown hostel offered a free dinner at 6pm for everyone who got a seat from the dining tables. We dined once and it was so fun! And a great way to get to know the people, also. You could also eat breakfast there, but it'd cost something.
The location couldn't be any better, because it was in the middle of the city but still the area was quiet and relaxed. There's a walking distance to everywhere, for example to Tivoli, Nyhavn, the shopping area, even to Christiania.

One minus I have: the hostel was a bit hard to find, we walked a very long time before we found it. But it's okay. Copenhagen is so beautiful city that we didn't mind!

I stayed there for 10 hours or so, and was really comfortable and clean for a hostel. I really appreciated the style and the energy of it. Though I paid 49euros which I felt like I was robbed!

Breakfast was all you can eat, but was average, and wasn't free either.

It's very near to the train station, so you don't need another transportation method after the train.

Great location and atmosphere/character, but lacks a minimum comfort. There are 2 toilets, most of the time blocked, for the entire floor, which has around 30 people? We also had a guy coming at the female dorm... I wouldn't stay there again...

Hi there,

I'm quiet surprise about your comments.
Just to clarify there is 4 showers/toilets per floor, if you avoid rush hour, you don't have any trouble.
Blocked wise, people can use less toilet paper and wouldn't be blocked and also the plunger and our cleaning staff try the rest.
The guys in the Female dorm clearly was a mistake that can be fixed ASAP. We are humans and we make mistake, not that many luckily.

Kind regards,
Copenhagen Downtown Staff

Booked a bed at very late notice in a room with 6 beds. Very friendly and great atmosphere. Room very hot but otherwise comfortable. I found room a bit pricey but this seems to be average price for a dorm bed. Safe locker provided for extra fee and flexible stores he times.

We rented a 4 bed private room at the front of the hostel for 3 nights. Room was clean and basic, beds were nice and comfy (surprising for a Hostel) There were plenty of power sockets in the room, although they were at awkward heights. Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly.

The bar has a basic range of drinks, but there are bars next door and across the road if you aren't happy with the selection. Happy hour is 20:00 - 21:00 and a pint was half price @ around 80dkk. They also put on free food at 18:30 which was quite tasty and helpful if you are on a tight budget.

The food was very tasty generally and good value.

The Hostel is in a great location about 5 mins from the main square and walk way.

The Copenhagen Downtown Hostel is a welcoming and friendly place! The staff members are extremely friendly, helpful and professional. The room for three people, with own bathroom, was small, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast good and happy hour bar prices excellent!

The location is very central and the surrounding streets offer various eating establishments. Fast food outlets are also close by. The Copenhagen central station is a few block away.

We were two middle aged men traveling with a 7 year boy. The hostel guests were obviously young people, but we saw guests from all ages staying there.

The Wi-Fi actually also worked in our room... :-)

The only, but huge drawback, was the very loud music from one bar / restaurant across the street. Music continued until about 4am (04:00) for two nights. It was a Friday and Saturday night.

If you want to sleep, get a room not facing the street!

Very lively hostel with a great communal area- especially liked the giant bed like sofa :) Staff are very friendly and speak great English. It's pretty easy to get to from the train station (about 10-15min walk) and Nyhaven and Christiania are all within walking distance. The breakfast was great but costs about £7, although the rest of Copenhagen is super expensive so it is relatively cheap! My only complaint would be the lack of bathrooms, there were often queues.

Hi there,

Thank you for your comments!
The best trick is to avoid rush hours or check the toilets-bathrooms in other floors!

Kind regards,
