We were 6 persons having a superb 3 course dinner last weekend. Both fish and meat were value for money. We will be back!

The service, the food, everything was absolutly great. We had a four couse meal. The wine they decided to each course tasted wonderful. The prices was as the Norwegian but worth each penny. We did the booking in advance.

The restaurant is in the cellars of an excellent hotel housed in a converted warehouse right at the end of Nyhavn, with water on two sides. There were massive white stone walls with windows at street level and huge wooden beams and a simple decor giving a quiet elegance. In contrast to the experience of some previous reviews, we found that the service was excellent, attentive but not obtrusive. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. We each had an entree and a main course. My pork cheek was delicious though my wife found her plaice rather bland and the crumb coating a little too salty for her taste. The prices are reasonable for a city that is generally expensive to eat out in. We did not test the wine list although it looked good, opting instead fro the excellent local beer on tap at the adjacent bar.

We dined here with friends a few weeks ago and I did walk away feeling slightly indifferent. I believe they may have been training some new staff members that night. We had to seek out a waiter to be seated, had to request menus and then request to order drinks! When we did have a waiter tending to us though, he was very polite and knowledgeable.

We all had a three course meal and I was a little disappointed that to 'qualify' for the three course price from the summer menu (which was limited to three options per course anyway), your starter, main and dessert were dictated. Perhaps this is standard, but it was presenting in a hater cunning way, just with a little asterix!

The starters were certainly the best course - the gazpacho was just wonderful. Sadly my salmon fillet main was overcooked.

The restaurant is in 71 Nyhavn which is a nice hotel, but the restaurant lacks a bit of atmosphere - it's a great re-use of the building, but the restaurant just hasn't been made very inviting.
