In the US we often describe the best restaurants as offering 'down home cooking', meaning they offer exceptionally tasty, local cuisine. In Copenhagen this restaurant is Cafe Petersborg. A small, intimate location not far from the Royal Palace and a warm friendly staff are evident once you enter the door. You are not hurried through your meal, but can truly enjoy the ambiance. And the food? As with many Danish restaurants there is a standard daily fare, but choices do exist and ALL are very well prepared. On the nights I ate there the standard fare was beef and pork. Both were superb. I speak a smattering of Danish and was able to converse with the staff which was an additional treat. For a great dinner go to Cafe Petersborg - you won't be disappointed.
