“A good place to dance to a jukebox”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

I've never eaten here, but my wife and I do go there from time to time on Friday and Saturday nights to dance to the Jukebox which is filled with classic rock, Creedence Clearwater being my favorite. Unfortunately, it closes at midnight. After that we move down to Parnass a few doors down the street to dance.

“One of the best brown cafees ever”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

It's always nice to be back at Skindbuksen and we probably will be back every time we go to KBH. Smily and service minded staff.

“Danish charm”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

If I should recommend a Danish style "pub" it would be this! It has an old world atmosphere with smoky (but smoking is of course now not permitted) brown panelled walls with lots of memorabilia, paintings and wall-hangings, some said to be settling bar bills by pennyless painters. It even has paintings on the ceiling! There is a well used piano at the end of the bar too, which if often used to accompany visiting entertainers and singers from the nearby opera. We had a delightful lunch of Danish open face sandwiches with a cool Danish beer from tap and an icecold glas of Aalborg Akvavit during our stay in Copenhagen in August 2012 and enjoyed the traditional Danish popular music played from the music system. An Irish pub could not have more atmosphere - and definitely not Danish style sandwishes and libations to match!

“Authentic Danish beer place with an excellent food.”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

We first visited it just for beer and somehow we liked it, so after a boat cruise we were back for late lunch and another round of beer (as we wanted to try Tuborg classic now).

The owner had no smile on his face and showed no sentiment first, saying that Classic was not available. Do not be fooled - he is really good! When 40 mins later another barrel arrived we were served with free Classic!

The restaurant has a stylish old time sharme, looks like many generations of the same family have been running it. Food is just great! Try three types of herring with your beer - the must.

Portions a big so take a starter first and then think twice about having a main course.

Servis is friendly and straight: "do not take this, it is going to be to much for you, better try that" - authentic, that is it.

Excellent value for price.
Overall a great place for lunch, we recommend it.

“Old Copenhagen in a few square meters”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

My stay in Copenhagen laster 4 days during which I ate a this place three times. Nice cosy, gemuetlich, acojedor, accogliente restaurant with very good Danish food, very good service (perfect English speaking) and nice atmosphere. One night there was a piano player and another one we had a singer playing the guitar.
Herrings are simply superbe! They melt in your mouth!
If you are hungry go for the menu that offers you a 360' taste of Danish dishes.
Strongly recommend!
Not a lot of tables so you'd better book.
