Nothing special, very average hostel. Breakfast could use a wider selection of things to eat (e.g. they don't serve eggs or oatmeal). You can't fit a suitcase under the bunkbed and there is no point to rent a luggage room because you need those things you have in your luggage with you in your room. I was told later that this is "red-light district". With metro, there is no near access but a train-station is very close. But to sum it up - it was ok but next time I will stay someplace else.
Date of stay: September 2019
Room Tip: If you travel with big luggage, then expect that you might want to rent a luggage storage box....

I knew when I booked that the hotel was at the budget end of the market and catered for backpackers as well as families. My wife and I booked a 3-bed room. The 'double' bed was two singles pushed together, with two separate doonas/duvets - but this arrangement is common in European countries - and it worked fine.

There was no tv in the room, a bit of a surprise but not really an issue, there is a common room downstairs if you need to watch the news etc. No fridge, but I didn't really expect one. The room was reasonably large with a good bathroom fit-out. No air-con but windows that could be opened for some air. My only negative comment about the room is that there were no water glasses in the bathroom, but I asked for two at the bar and they were happy to let me have them.

Check-in is normally self-service at a table of four computers in the lobby but when we arrived there was a staff member helping people to check in.

Staff were invariably friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. Breakfast was self-service, a bit different to most hotel breakfasts but good nonetheless. Unusual cost-saving measure: guests are expected to take their used plates and cutlery to a spot near the kitchen, scrape excess food off and place the plates in a dishwasher rack. Fine by me if it saves a bit of money. Also, rooms are not cleaned every day - only every third day. Again, fine by me as a cost-saver.

Location: Very close to the Copenhagen central railway station, probably 2-300 metres. It's much cheaper to travel to or from the airport by train than by taxi. It's also close to tourist buses.

As the title says, different but enjoyable. I'd recommend it to anyone as long as they realize it's not a standard hotel. It was the friendly, helpful staff that made the biggest impression on me though. There was a good atmosphere in the bar area too, not your usual sterile hotel bar/lobby.

I can’t fault the location, staff, cleanliness and comfort. I stayed in a private room and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The bathroom was spotless and unexpectedly came with a bath.

Whilst I wouldn’t expect a hostel to be a restful night necessarily, Urban House took it to the next level. I stayed for theee nights, and for two of those nights there were teenagers (school group?) running around the corridors until 11pm totally unchecked. The street noise was also really disruptive, with people smoking and drinking directly underneath the windows.

Great place if you’re not worried about noise, but light sleepers should steer clear.

I booked this ho(s)tel because of all the good ratings but was a great disappointment. Lets start with the negatives since I have rated it extremely low. We booked a private room which was for 3 people

- No internet service in the room. TV is not in the room anyway as its not part of amenities. The internet signal was poor enough not to reach our room to be able to sign in although it was visible. It was clearly poor signal in room issue since it was readily available near elevators all the time! When asked, the staff said the internet quality is on and off! With no TV in room, we had to go down to lobby just to check attractions in the city for our planning etc which was highly inconvenient. Since they mention wifi as a service, it should work in all the rooms.

- Check in is using a 3-4 computers by yourself, not at service desk. It was filled with a group of students that didn't move from that place for almost half hour. Since this is a hostel, I expect this will be normal condition all the time. Hotel wants to save staff time but inconvenience the guests. Only one key provided and had to go to service desk anyway to get another key.

- Extremely small room with no room for our luggage as we were travelling around.

- Room service every 3 days only unlike other hotels that do it daily. Not even towels provided, we had to change them at the lobby frequently

- Dirty rooms (picture)

- Not very family friendly area with a night club across the hotel

Some good things
- Staff was helpful for requests since we had a lot because of poor hotel service

- Location close to central station, Tivoli, Food, transport etc.

- They have luggage lockers for daily/hourly storage including large bags. It can fit 3 cabin bags or 1 checked bag. But can get expensive with more luggage unlike other hotels that do it free in luggage room.

- Bar in hotel lobby if you care

Room tip: Choose room closest to elevator or make sure wifi works in your room before accepting it and on higher floor for less noise

Being somehow a mix between a hostel and a proper hotel really benefits this place. The interior of the lounge and atmosphere are vibrant, yet warm and inviting, which makes it just appropriate for nearly any person. As I went in summer with my mum, we made good use of the shared lounge. The shared self-use kitchen was spacious, providing plenty of pans, fridge space, and plates and cutlery, and most people cleaned up after themselves. If you want to eat/sit outside, there is room for that as well.

We slept in the newer building just a 1-minute walk away from the main building, but it was clean and functional nevertheless. Something like a fan or air-conditioning would be cool in summer, but it wasn't too bad. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the whole place!

Five minutes from the central railway station, close to the main museums, Tivoli..
We slept three nights in a quadruple room with private bathroom. One double bed and two bunks beds.Everything was clean, bed linens were included(not always the case in Scandinavia).
On reception floor : the bar, an outside patio with tables, a TV room, a kitchen for self catering. Bikes for rent, 100dkk/6hrs,not terrific but sufficient for a flat city.
Only downside, when you have to keep the windows open is the street noise, especially groups of people shouting..
Windows closed, no problem.
All in all a good solution for Copenhagen.
