Description: SALT bar & restaurant is a modern version of the splendid Parisian brasserie. A fascinating maritime expression has become characteristic for SALT's decor. The food at SALT is full of innovative and challenging flavors. It is modern Danish and created from a strong traditional foundation, where modern techniques are refining the confidence of habit. Classic, recognizable taste combinations combined with the temptations of contemporary interpretations represent what we define as modern classics.

“Spectacular room”

We had lunch there as we were leaving the city. We tried the 'headline' fish & chips, which was OK, but the room itself is quite something.

“Fantastic destination restaurant which happens to be in a hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

We had a group dinner in the old oven of the mill and it was a treat. The room looks great in dimmed lighting but equally would work well for a daytime meeting.

The meal was a 5course set menu and it was delicious, each course came with a specific wine and it was matched perfectly.

Each course was huge so if your hungry this is the place for you

I was also lucky enough to have lunch here too and a set menu of traditional Danish food and it was the perfect end to the visit.

Despite this restaurant being located within a hotel it has a great ambience and the staff are very attentive.

I would recommend a drink in the lively bar before heading to dinner.

I had the appitizer and I enjoyed the dish. Mainly loved the scallops which goat cheese and it was just heavenly. Taste was wonderful. The fish for main was excellent. Dessert was interesting mix of sorbet and I even enjoyed it very much on a cold winter evening. Overall, a very satisfying experience.

“Good for a hotel restaurant.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013 via mobile

If your are staying in the admiral hotel the restaurant is worth a visit. They serve French inspired cuisine with a seasonal twist. We had a dinner party here with 12 guests and the service, menu and wine suggestion was great. The adjoining bar offers good cocktails served with a smile in a cosy setting, for a hotel.

“Good place for a treat or special occasion”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

We went here for my boyfriend's birthday and had a lovely time. The restaurant's lovely decor is a mix of rustic beams, high ceilings and yet modern furnishings. The atmosphere gave the place a sense of occasion, without being too formal or stuffy. All the food was very good and the menus were well-priced. Cheese was very good. The wine list was extensive and mainly old school, but there was a fair selection of reasonably priced wines (based on local prices). The service was good, but perhaps a bit too attentive for our tastes. I made the mistake of asking for a wine recommendation for our starters as the wine list was mostly French. I believe the waitress understood this as that we knew nothing about wine and from that point, tried to insistently recommend us very expensive and probably over-priced wine. I have only mentioned this as it was quite ridiculous to be recommended a £50 half bottle of wine for our cheese course! Overall, we had a lovely meal and evening here, so I would definitely recommend it.
