“Perfect lunch stop”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We dropped by between visiting Christiansborg Slot and the National Museum on a Sunday. Cafe Katz is handily located near to both and it was perfect for a bit of refuelling before the next culture shot. The food is unpretentious hot sandwich and salad style. I had a New Yorker hot pastrami on pumpkin seed bread and a cold beer. It was well done, large, and hit the spot. My wife had Frittata with a side salad which included crispy bacon. There is virtually no meal which cannot be improved by the addition of bacon, so top marks. We went back 2 days later, and this time I ate the house club sandwich - similarly vast, tasty and good value. I really liked Cafe Katz. It was informal, cosy in the Danish Hygge tradition, friendly, and the food was just right for a couple of hungry tourists. Service was quick and efficient. Definitely worth a visit. Recommended.

“Decent café but nothing special”
Reviewed January 2, 2014 via mobile

My wife and i both ordered the Thai salad. We both thought the meat was too salty. Adding a hint of coriander doesnt magically turn it into a Thai dish. The vegetables at least were fresh. Service was fiendly. When we were moved from one table to another becayse it was wobbly, we ended up at another wobbly table. Sanitation was not so clean. Decent lunchroom, but nothing to write home about.

“Very nice café”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

This is a lovely little café. We ate here following a visit to Christiansborg. The service was friendly and efficient. The food is well presented, tastes good and there is plenty of it. My only complaint is that they charged the equivalent of €1.20 for a glass of water. Water should be free and this is not an acceptable practice. Other than that I recommend this café.

“Sloppy Service at Cafe Katz”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

The waitress, who was very pleasanr, followed the growing trend of not bothering to write down the order - my wife ended up with the wrong pasta - willingly changed but we ended up not eating at the same time. For myself, my vegetarian burger - which I knew would not be soya - comprised two of the smallest and least interesting rissoles it is possible to come up with - terrible value. Apologies from the waitress but not the chef, no offer of any discount from the bill. Give it a miss in case you are a victim of such poor service and value..

“Good food!”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Very close to Ströget you can find this gem. They serve continental food and they can cater for allergies very well. They are also flexible about orders so you can order an extra half sallad or something. They serve meat, fish and veggiefood. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic! World class! The food is good. All the 4 times I have eaten here all the food has been excellent! Whenever we are in Copenhagen and are hungry we try to go to cafe Katz. It is also located close to club Mambo if you are going dancing afterwards.
