We loved the location as it was only one stop from central Copenhagen a nice walk on the river and close to lots of great little restaurants. However it's a massive hotel with basic rooms, no iron, no tea and coffee twin beds that were short limited cupboard space and simple bathroom. The breakfast was nice but get in early as they were slow to replenish things (including cuttlery) and staff overall were pretty much non existent. They could do much better but it's hard to complain as we got a good deal on price. Don't pay too much and you will be satisfied with somewhere to sleep and not much else.

We stayed her for one night when we where in Copenhagen to see "Take That". Copenhagen Island is OK but nothing special, location is good but not great and the rooms are average. Even the hotel bar was a bit boring with a strange location within the hotel. It is not a bad hotel, just another hotel.

The best part of the hotel is its location on the river. While we were there, there was a kayak polo tournament going on just outside the hotel lobby. The old ladies sitting in the lobby got a thrill when the male players were changing out of their swim trunks outside the wall-to-wall windows - haha.. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the center of Copenhagen - its pleasant walking along the river.

The decor of the hotel is modern and the hotel is only a few years old. The issue that I had was that the room was just too small to be comfortable. There wasn't enough room to open our luggage without blocking the floor around the bed. There was a fold-out contraption on the wall to hold your luggage, but it was too small to be effective. The beds were comfortable with down comforters. There's a flat planel TV on the well with a desk & chair in front of the beds. There's a sitting chair, but it blocks the doors of the small dresser. There's no safe in the room which is annoying, but there's a safe in the lobby for rent. There's free wifi in the lobby as well as in the room. There's computer room on the 1st floor. We ate in the restaurant for both breakfast & dinner. The breakfast buffet isn't the largest, but the quality was good. Dinner was decent but was expensive.

The bathroom is in white tile. The shower has a half-door which allows alot of water to get splashed on the floor when you're taking a shower. The ventilation is pretty bad, all surfaces were wet in the bathroom after a shower.

This hotel is right next to a shopping mall with movie theaters, and within walking distance to quite a few attractions...a few blocks from Tivoli Square. The rooms are small, but nicely done up with a modern contemporary touch. Shower was spacious but you have to work to find the right spot on the nozzle to get consistent hot water. They serve a fantastic breakfast brunch as part of the price of your reservation. Great array of breads, fruits, and sandwich meat...eggs were so, so. Also had dinner there, which was good, however the service was outstanding.

Located in the relatively quiet business area, this hotel with a great, light and modern architecture is surrounded by beautiful modern buildings. You're just a few minutes from the central station and from the old city center. Taxi boats can bring you directly from the hotel to the main places in the city.
Service is perfect: polite, kind, fast with a smile. Rooms are luminous, clean, nicely arranged and you can choose the harbour view. Breakfast is copious and various. Restaurant is also above the average grade. I don't see any bad point for this place. Worthy for business or personal stay.

Room Tip: Take the harbour view!

We added a stay in Copenhagen to the beginning of a European at the last minute because of a change in friends' plans. Because it was so near to our travel time, I corresponded by email directly with the Copenhagen Island Hotel, which I had chosen after researching several Copenhagen hotels. I booked two standard rooms for my husband and I and are two children (ages 7 and 11). Upon arriving at the hotel around midnight after flying all night from New York via London and Hamburg followed by a 4-hour drive to Copenhagen, we were told that there were no rooms for us and given no explanation why, even though I had in hand the written confirmation from the hotel and I had prepaid for the rooms. We were told that we could go to a "sister" hotel across the street, Tivoli Gardens Hotel and were assured that "it would be much better for children". While it could have been because I was exhausted after travelling for nearly 24 hours, it seemed to me that this hotel clearly did not children. The man speaking to us even said "look around, do you see any children?" Given that I had just corresponded by email with the hotel 10 days before to book the rooms and made it clear in the email that we were travelling with children, I do not understand why, at the time of booking, we weren't redirected to the Tivoli Gardens Hotel since is was so much more "family friendly." If this hotel wants to cater to a business clientele, that's fine but they never should have agreed to book two rooms for us and then send us away at midnight. If found it to be highly unprofessional and, if the need every arises for me to travel to Copenhagen on business I certainly would not choose this hotel.

Small but nice rooms with a view on the sea - canal. Very beautiful lounge for dinner and breakfast and very tasty both. We also enjoyed the sauna, the hamam and a small gym with excellent sea view too. I recommend that you rent a bike and stroll around the canals.
