Nice room on 4 th floor, one of larger I think. Very comfortable bed, pillows, duvet etc. fairly quiet - a little bit of noise from a night-club on the Sat night. Delicious breakfast - almonds in honey make the excellent granola and fruit salad really nice. No calpucinos/espressos but good filter coffee.

Dear bbgraham0

I much appreciate the time you have taken to post a review of your recent stay with us.

It pleases me to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. I do apologize that one of our (residential) neighbors held a party, which disturbed you - there is no nightclub in the vicinity.

I am also pleased that you conclude with complimenting our breakfast, where I personally have selected our organic suppliers and the products we serve.

I remain

This hotel is wonderful. It has a homely feel, which usually is very rare in Copenhagen. It doesn't affect the quality of the place - the rooms are nice and surprisingly quiet despite it's center location. The breakfast is wonderful!

Bertram's hotel is a great place to go to relax and feel at home. From the minute we arrived, Niklas, his wife and staff were completely friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel creates a very homely and relaxing atmosphere. Everyone speaks English which is great, as my Danish is non-existent. Some reviewers have commented on the hotel's location being outside of the centre of town. This is correct, however it takes less than 10 minutes on foot to reach the centre of town, and its straight down the road that the hotel is located on. If you don't feel like walking, the bus stops on the doorstep. The central railway station is located between Copenhagen's shopping district and Bertram's hotel. The rooms are small (which all European rooms are), but very well appointed and comfortable. There were quite a few English speaking TV stations (cable TV) as a lot of popular American shows are broadcast in English with Danish subtitles. It was very nice to return to the hotel after a day's wandering around the city. Perhaps the most memorable aspect of Bertram's Hotel was the breakfast buffet every morning. Lots of traditional Danish food such as fish (salmon, herring etc.) as well as breakfast cereal, eggs, and some of the best bread I've ever tasted. Tea and coffee are available throughout the day, as well as alcoholic beverages. Overall Bertram's hotel was terrific value for money and I would definitely recommend to everyone.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor wth a street view. Very little traffic noise as the windows are triple...

Located in the lively, multi-cultural district of Vesterbro (a good, walk-off-your-Christmas-dinner- distance away from the city centre), Bertrams provided us with the perfect base for our four-night, January stay in Copenhagen. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

I will start by saying that myself and my partner are perhaps not Bertrams' usual clientele. We are in our twenties, and Bertrams only appeared on our budget-conscious radars thanks to a staggeringly good deal. That being said, if you are the sort of traveller who likes to stay somewhere with friendly, non-fawning service, and in a less touristy part of town, then don't hesitate to book.

What was so great about it? Firstly, and on my checklist most importantly, came the wonderful customer service provided by Nikolas and the rest of his team. Being from Manchester and accustomed to the rain and cold, we spent most of our days out of doors, walking around the different areas of the city in fairly inclement weather. Arriving back to such a relaxed, funny and cheerful response every day made all of the difference when we were soaked to the bone. Bertrams has a lovely, homely feel, and this is in large part due to the thoughtfulness and approachability of the staff.

Secondly, the cloud-like bed. If you too have a duvet-stealer for a partner, you will no doubt understand my joy at seeing a duvet split in two to cater for such behaviour. Soft, sumptuous linen, and this winning design, ensured that we were late setting off almost every morning!

Lastly, the breakfast was absolutely delicious. People have commented on the price, but at only double the price of a take-away coffee and croissant, this is more than justified in pricey Copenhagen. You will also have no need for lunch afterwards! The homemade yoghurt with almonds and honey was especially good.

I hope that you choose to stay here. Thank you Bertrams for your wonderful hospitality and attention to detail!

The outstanding feature of Bertram's is the breakfast: you can watch the chef preparing fresh yoghurts, cereals, everything. And the taste is accordingly: great.
Staff is very friendly, I was a bit late for check-in, no problem at all nd a very warm welcome by the owner. Definitely worth a stay!
The only (minor) critic would be the room itself, or better, the room size, they are pretty small and at least for my taste borderline small for a longer stay. On the other hand the design is pretty nice, with some Balinese influences. Also TV only features one or two non-danish channels.

The hotel has good connection with public transport, however a bit outside. There are many nice restaurants and cafes in the area. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the lobby bar. Breakfast is also very good.

Highly recommended. This is a lovely hotel- warm and welcoming in December gray though clearly the garden and breakfast room are even more lovely in the warm seasons.
The service is excellent: thoughtful and generous hospitality. The rooms are beautifully appointed. We did not have the breakfast but it looked as superb as it is reported to be. I look forward to going back.

Room Tip: Our room looked onto their lovely courtyard- it was quiet and lovely-- The street side may be a bit...
