Owner description: For once, it's the tourists who get it right – locals almost never experience Copenhagen in this way, and they're missing out on a treat, experiencing the old city centre from a different perspective and seeing almost all the downtown attractions from the water. Canal Tours Copenhagen offer four different tours of the city, ranging from 60-75 minutes in duration, both with or without a guide. They leave from Gammel Strand and Nyhavn, with longer ones taking you as far as the Little Mermaid and out into the Oeresund Channel to the tiny fortress island of Trekroner. On Sunday and Thursday evenings during summer months there's even a 90-minute jazz cruise, with live music aboard the boat.Armed with a strong fleet of 16 comfortable boats, six of which are heated and covered, the Canal Tours takes you through a guided journey along the city s harbor and canal. At least one of the multilingual staff members is always onboard, enlightening guests on the picturesque surroundings. Choose from the various tours available. And for something unusual, go for the Dinner Cruise, where you can enjoy a delectable meal as you cruise along the waters. And if you have charted your own itinerary, then just go ahead and rent one of our boats.

The canal tour was good with sensible commentary, explaining the architecture and history without being boring and a sensible price - 70k for a 1 hour tour. However it would seem that some residents of Copenhagan do not like the tours - or are just objectionable - as a youth threw a pot of yoghurt at the boat covering DH and I plus 2 other passangers with youghurt - leaving DH wearing a navy shirt speckled with white (and smelling) for the rest of the day (our hotel was at the airport). The tour company was in no way to blame for this and they were as horrified as we were. I do reccommend sitting on the side of the boat away from the shore.

“God value, Great to see the Architecture and hear about the History”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

This was a cosy boat trip around Copenhagen. Nice to be able to hop on/off and really chill out and see the different areas down by the canal etc. Very informative trip, it lasted about an hour in total and cost about €10. We didn't really have sufficientcontact with the staff to comment on their service, but we didn't need to.

“Good tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

We took the canal boat tour in February. It was a very cold day, but the majority of the boat is undercover and so it wasn't too bad. The guide was great. She spoke fluent English and told us some really interesting details about the city. The canal boat tour is a hop on hop off trip, so worth jumping off and having a look around places you may not have found on foot. A good way to spend a few hours and a nice way to see the and hear about the city.

Fab way to see Copenhagen, not quite enough information fit me on dinner if the amazing buildings you go past, but a great trip, after walking around for 2 days it makes you realise how much water there is in and around the city.

“Great way to see the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2013

We were slightly nervous about taking a tour in February when it was cold but the boat is covered and heated but you can slide the windows up to take photos or go outside if you wish for some/all of the trip.
We started and finished at Nyhavn and saw some of the key attractions in the city from the water instead of the land.
You could hop off at any of the stops and rejoin the next tour; there was a stop at the little mermaid for photos and a couple of other stops.
The guide was fluent in Danish, English and German and gave good commentary - warning you at each of the low bridges about the need to keep your head down if you were outside taking photos.
The tour was especially good value as it was included in our cOPENhagen Card!
