20 years anniversary - should be a bit special. I decided to book a table at Höst. We arrived 5 minutes early, was shown to our table.
The whole place is very rustic, a mixture of concrete, steel and wood gives it a really nice touch.
I had already decided from the menu available on the website, what I was to choose, but my wife looked over the menu, decided for the same, with a twist on the dessert.
So a 3 course dinner with a wine menu.
First arrived the bubbles - a cremant from Bourgogne made on Chardonnay
Then a small appetiser - with something to tease the tastebuds... excellent - the stairway to heaven, showed the first steps right here...
The came the Pinot Auxerrois “H” Josmeyer - excellent to match the veal terrin and grilled Norway lobster that was the starter... again a couple of steps up the stair...
The middle course was introduced, again not on the menu, but as a small surprise along the culinary journey that we had started. It was danish squid with a soup, served with choux made on shrimp - taste was soft and the meat delicious and tender.
For the main course we had tenderloin wrapped in beetroot served with a maltsirup bun. This was served with Barbera d´Alba Negro, Nicolon, Piemonte redwine.
Then again a pre-dessert Porter Ale ice cream, with youghurt mousse...
And the dessert was as prevouisly stated different, and my wife got the option of getting the wine that suited her dessert - however she didn't go for it and decided to take the same.
Both dessert were fantastic, and to top it all off we had a coffe and a latte accompanied with a small chocolate treat with soft and creamy rasperry marshmallow and marcipan... yummi.
Was the staff excellent - yes, and the fact that we had several waiters come to our table, we did have one that was responsible (or that's how it felt anyway)...
Was the food excellent - yes, I would like to say that this is one of the most complete food experiences I have had so far (this includes a few Michelin restaurants as well).
Would/will I come back - most certainly, the value for money is just a matter of time before they could move to another level... best make it before they know... if you know what I mean...

We had the höst menu and accompanying wine menu, and the food was remarkable, and wines great. Excellent courses, and small pre-courses - both tasty and nicely presented. Couldn't recommend this more!

We had the pleasure to eat here when we visited Copenhagen. It was definitely a memorable meal! They use traditional nordic dishes and give them a contemporary twist which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Nevertheless, it's always fun to try innovative food and the staff were very nice and knowledgeable. Would recommend if you have an adventurous palette!

Where can we start extolling the virtues of this restaurant. We booked the three course tasting menu with accompanying wines. We had run out of superlatives by the time we got to the fifth course, and that was even before we had been served the main course. We have eaten at some wonderful restaurants over the years but both felt this was the best meal we had even eaten. We asked the staff why it was not Michelin starred and were told that their wine menu didn't meet the requirements. Trust us, the wine selected to accompany our meal was perfectly matched. This place cannot be beaten on food, atmosphere and service and if you go to Copenhagen for no other reason, book to go here.
