Show lessgreat breakfast, nice size hotel room, good gym, close to railway station but walkable to town, comfy lounge area, 10 minutes to airport in the taxi, good car parking, play area for my 1 year old near the restaurant
The room I was in was quite run down, with something that looked like mold near the ventilator shaft (see picture). On my return back to the hotel room on the second day the cleaning person had apparently left a cleaning product standing right by the sink (see second picture). I did not find that very professional or hygienic. I had been to this hotel before and was disappointed this time. Maybe I just had a fluke room and an accidental oversight on the part of the cleaning personnel.
Good food, good room and friendly staff, even late at night.
Next to this, the hotel is easily accessible from the city center and has plenty of interesting area's to go to during the evening hours.
Close to the city center, close to the airport, what else are you looking for ?
Location: This property is located in a quiet area unlike the Scandic Global in Oslo. We stayed here as our last stop in Scandinavia tour. This is about 10 minutes by taxi from airport. Taxis are easily available. We hired a taxi from this hotel to go to airport ; for the benefit of travellers .... it cost us DKK 220.
Food: The breakfast spread was decent with a choice for vegetarians: breads , fruits, yoghurts, juices and of course coffee and hot chocolate. No complaints! Fairly large place for buffet breakfast.
Room: Spacious and we had enough space to open and repack all our bags! Shower area is adequate. I remember seeing an iron box. You also have a hair dryer. Like most of the hotels that we stayed in Scandinavia, here also there was no kettle.
Wifi : Yes and high speed.
Staff at reception were friendly and helpful.
Yes, they have a very large lobby when you enter.
We would surely recommend.
I did write in 2015, but we stayed again this year a couple of times there, and I can see nothing has changed. Breakfast is still gorgeous but if you cannot find a clean table - how does that help? We continue using this Scandic due to the space of Old Wing Junior Suite rooms, large free parking and quality breakfast. But the room when we entered it, was dirty!! The nice balcony you have there- the dirt on the table was few cm and the ashtrays filled with filth which was probably cleaned in 2005 somewhere. I understand that many complaints like the view out of the window towards factories you cannot change. But it is a lot you surely can!! Instead of Camilla answering meaninglessly to each comment here (it is the site for travellers not meaningless comments of managers!!) - please DO THINGS! Throw out these useless red/green creatures you call 'trash bins'. If room is booked for 4 people, then put 4 glasses in there. If we booked 2 children, than it is awkward to be calling reception to send a maid because only 1 sofa was unfolded and bedded, and another - not! If you provide a bottle of wine in suite, then do NOT remove wine glasses next day seeing half bottle full. Hire some staff to serve at breakfast. Don't be telling travellers "yes, there IS wienebrod at breakfast": if you add it once in 30 minutes and that person was there for 20 minutes, then she will only say - "there WAS NO wienebrod", and she will be right, it's not served frequently enough.; Go and see, Camilla, the cleanness of rooms as spot inspections!! It is ridiculous that every second review is about dirty rooms!! Yes, the staff at reception is very helpful and try their best, but why the details to these N amount of complains are not handled by proper people and from the very beginning? There is no attention to detail! And for 4 stars you claim to be, it is just unacceptable! So do NOT answer me, just do something not to see shameful things happening from year to year!
