We stayed at the Hotel Hebron for two nights in late May 2014. We booked a spring/summer special offer nearly 5 months in advance and got a cracking rate of DKK 895 (just under £100) per night for a suite. I wouldn't normally book a tourist class hotel, but was so impressed with the description and pictures of the suite on the hotel website and the reviews on Tripadvisor that I thought we'd give it a go. First impressions were good with a friendly welcome at reception and we were able to check in early. Unfortunately the room we were allocated (123) whilst undeniably a suite (living room, bedroom and bathroom) it in no way looked like the suite in the pictures. In fact it was decorated and furnished in a very similar way to the room the reviewer 'connect2source' referred to in March 2014. It was dated and drab and there was no sign of the promised free minibar. I went back to reception and explained my unhappiness. She asked to see my reservation confirmation, saw it clearly stated "suite - one king bed" and suggested that the room types available when booking don't easily match the room types that actually exist. Bearing in mind the only suites mentioned on the hotel website are the recently refurbished ones that come with an inclusive minibar I can't understand how this situation occurs. If there is more than one type of suite available at the hotel this should be clearly described on the website. She kindly checked to see if one of the refurbished rooms was available and arranged the 'upgrade'. This room (323) was much better and looked just like the pictures. It was lovely and quiet with a view out the back of the hotel and we enjoyed the complimentary drinks.

Breakfast, as almost all reviewers have mentioned is excellent in a lovely, light and airy room with a wonderful selection of foods and friendly staff laying tables and replenishing items.

There are a few reasons I haven't given this hotel a higher score. Firstly the room standards are clearly variable. The difference between the two I saw was marked and had we have stayed in room 123 my score would have been even lower. The owners are clearly trying their best with the property, but as they say, it's a 100 year old building and these things take time. As such the corridors are tired with green carpet and bright green doors with aren't exactly contemporary. There's no air conditioning in the room but as we were at the back of the hotel we were able to sleep well with the windows open. Finally the main reason I haven't given a higher score is the immediate area the hotel is located in. Whilst it's true that the area generally has undergone something of a renaissance with new bars and restaurants moving in, the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Hebron is still very much stuck in the red light district. There's a still a strip club next door and a sex shop around the corner. At the bottom of the road prostitutes still walk the street. We're a mid-thirties gay couple from Brighton, so hardly prudish, but it just wasn't very pleasant walking back to the hotel at 11pm. Had we walked along the main road we would have probably felt less uncomfortable.

All in all whilst we had a nice stay at the Hotel Hebron I think we'd stay elsewhere if we were to return to Copenhagen.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear of the property (rather than at the front or overlooking the courtyard) offer the...

Thank you for your comments here at Trip Advisor.
It is true that we have a lot of very different rooms. Some are newly refurbished whereas others has other advantages such as size, bathtub etc. It is nice to hear that you came forward with your wishes, and got a room that was perfect for you.

We flew into Copenhagen, and got a train direct from the airport. This hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk away, so really convenient. We based ourselves here and didn't need to use any further public transport until we left (other than the water bus, which a local told us was a lot cheaper than the tourist boats and took in the same sights). We had a suite at the hotel, which was marginally more expensive than a deluxe room, but more than paid for itself in terms of the free mini bar and snacks included- Copenhagen is not cheap. It was also very comfortable with a separate cosy living area. The bathroom was clean but tired, but they were in the process of refurbing all bathrooms on our floor. The customer service was simply exceptional, the staff could not have been any more helpful and recommended great places to eat, supplied maps etc. Breakfast was good with a wide choice to suit every palate.

We stayed at the Best Western hotel Hebron in May 2014 during the Eurovision Song Contest held in Copenhagen.

Only a few blocks away from the Central Railway station Hebron is perfectly located, no need for taxis at any point if you should be arriving to CPH. Also Tivoli and the city center are within a walking distance and I truly mean that. 10 minutes at the most.

Hebron offers excellent quality in all its facilities: Rooms were clean and nice, inner court is a great meeting point, (lounge as well) and the breakfast is just perfect. I’ve never ever seen such a variety in f.e. cheeses. They truly made our day every morning.

Yet what I was most impressed about was the service and hospitality of the personnel. They bend over backwards to help us and always with a kind & professional attitude and great big smile. I’ll be most definitely returning to Hebron next time we’re in Copenhagen.

Staff were very nice and the breakfast room is lovely but we could not sleep because the room (107) was too warm (no AC) and when we opened the window for some cool air it was too noisy with people yelling and talking all night in the street below us.

Found the room to be very small as well. It's in a good location but would not stay there again.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere quieter and with AC

I am sorry that the street was noisy. Normally it is a quiet street considering the fact that we are situated in the center of Copenhagen.
Still I hope you enjoyed our city.

Best breakfast in our three week trip, staying at many different hotels! Small room, but comfortable.
Office staff very pleasant and helpful. Loved the coffee available at all times and sometimes even left over Danish to snack on at night. Very easy access to train station.

Stayed here for three days post cruise. I had absolutely no issues with the hotel. Found the check in smooth. The room was not ready when we arrived in the morning but our luggage was stored and we were ready to begin exploring. We were directed to help ourselves to tea/coffee which was available at any time. Hotel is kept clean and rooms are spacious. Our room faced the courtyard and guests could be heard at night with the windows open; but no big deal.
Breakfast had something for everyone and service from Giovanna was a-0ne. She was attentive and always there to clean the dishes and offer more coffee.
Shower took a bit of getting use to but again no reason to not adapt.
Location is ideal and we walked everywhere. We would grab wine from the 7 eleven down the street.
If I had a complaint it would be that the twin bed set up needed to be pushed further apart. Seemed like it was still one bed.
Would stay here again and highly recommend the hotel to anyone.
I have read complaints about the strip club next door. If I hadn't walked by it I would not have know that it was next door..
