Owner description: The Royal Danish Arsenal Museum houses permanent exhibitions about war, defence and weapon technology, and presents Danish military history from the 1500s until today. Experience the exhibition "Denmark's Wars" in the museum's large Rustkammersal and "A Distant War - a Danish Soldier in Afghanistan", an exhibition in which you can feel the atmosphere of a Danish combat group in Afghanistan.

Well worth going to see if you are remotely interested in weaponry. The location is stunning in two long gallery's and the collection of field guns in incredible.
Upstairs the small arms are well laid out and there is a good mix of both modern, intermediate and older weapons to view, oh and an F16 outside! Really interesting and given it was free entry - the icing on the cake!

The Tojhusmuseet has a tremendous collection of canons on the ground floor, and exhibits on the upper floor of countless wars between the Danes and Swedes. In long courtyard outside is an F16 fighter bomber which you can sit in and chat with a guide (English speaking on our visit). Entry is free. Worth a short visit.

The Royal Arsenal Museum features a recently-renovated upstairs portion that summarizes Danish (military) history since 1500, with exhibits covering each of Denmark's wars over the last 500+ years in chronological order. If you've ever wondered about relations between Denmark and Sweden, between Denmark and Germany, etc. this museum gives a concise overview.

At first glance this museum appears to by filled with a set of very similar looking guns, which is probably great if your are interested to the history of Danish artillery.

However the best parts of the museum are hidden away. The first is the exhibition about Danes/ troops in Afghanistan and the conditions within Camp Bastion. As the area has a sand/gravel floor covering it would be best not to wear high heels as I did.

Off though a small side door are the stairs to the second floor which houses to the we went an exhibition of all history of the wars fought by are involving Denmark. including Uniforms, weapons and good information on the countries history. Although we hope the empty side of the floor is not reversed for future conflicts. Both Exhibition are labelled in Danish and English

I could not wish neither a better collection of weapons nor their exhibition!!! Really outstanding collection! Most certainly worth all those too short hours I spent there! I would most certainly visit this place again.
