“Cool, beautiful and well thought out museum”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

If you're a fan of sculpture this really is a cool museum. The artist designed this museum for his own work and so it's very well thought out.

“Really excellent museum, great audio guide”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

This was the best museum we visited in Copenhagen, and I highly recommend the free audio guide. It made each sculpture mean so much more, and it helped remind me to pause and really consider each one in a way that brought a lot more meaning to the visit. It's not an overwhelming museum at all; perfect for an hour or two on a morning or afternoon as part of your visit to this great city. Extra bonus was the flea market out right in front of the museum on Sunday morning.

We are absolutely delighted to receive such a positive review – thank you!
Indeed, we highly recommend the free audio guides, which provide visitors with unique insights about the mythology, history and making of the sculptures.
We are also glad to hear, that you enjoyed the flea market – i.e. Thorvaldsens Plads Antique Market. It’s open right outside the museum each Friday and Saturday from 08.00 - 17.00 (beginning April 19 and ending October 27)

“Something different”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

If you are not used to museum experiences or tired of looking at paintings at Statens Museum, then this is worth a shot! I've only been there once, but I loved it! It is almost like being in a movie! Where else do you see so many white and big sculptures? Well, maybe Greece...

“very well done”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

This is a real treasure. The entire museum was built for Thorvaldsen's works and they are displayed very well-as they were initially. If you had some time, an hour or two in this museum is worth it.
