“Good collection; excellent resources”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

What made this visit so enjoyable was the excellent supporting media and information available throughout the gallery. This includes informative wall plaques, interactive video kiosks, explanatory one-sheets, audio explanations and backgrounds, or simply music to enhance your viewing experience. A lot of thought has gone into making their fair collection able to be enjoyed to the full. We ended up spending 4 hours there, because we were immersed by all of the resources.

“Impressive collection”

Diverse and interesting collection to be found in this free museum. I wouldn't give it a miss, even if you may not be the biggest art fan.

“At last, the real thing!”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

The collection at the National Gallery features paintings we have seen all our lives in art appreciation texts--only here we see the real thing. The museum is handicapped friendly and the staff is friendly and helpful. Admission to the permanent collection is free, making it one of the rare bargains in Copenhagen.

“A must for art lovers.”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Loved it, a great introduction to Danish art! Plan to spend a lot of time, as it is quite an extensive collection. We had a limited time available to visit, so we selected some of the themed exhibitions to see: Danish and international art after 1900, Danish and Nordic art and French art 1900-1930. We thoroughly enjoyed them!
