“Surprisingly good”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

"Davids Samling" contains a beautilful collection of muslim art with a very nice atmsphere - cool and secluded. The place also has some other collections, but the one with muslim art is by far the most interesting part. Also had some good information on history of the muslim countries.

“Great art and house”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

I really enjoy the combination of someone's passion for art and the natural environment of showcasing it in the owner's home. The David collection is just that and much more - it is one of my favorite places to go and relax after a busy day. Moreover, it is free compared to most museums where you pay an entrance fee,

“Copenhagen's Real Crown Jewel”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

The Collection of Islamic Art on the third and fourth floors of this museum is stunning in both its depth and breadth. The mini Ipad that you can obtain at the front desk if you leave some form of ID is great; you can decide the exhibits you want more information about versus those you wish to give a more cursory look. There is no entrance fee for this museum.

If you are not very familiar with Islam or Islamic art you might want to begin in the "Resource Area," which had about 10 smaller displays in one room that went over various cultural history themes. It is on the 4th floor where you start viewing the collection, but it's not located right at the beginning of the self-guided tour. You would either need to ask how to get to it or find it on the map, and then back-track to the beginning of the collection thereafter. It would have been helpful for me to have started there.

The Danish and European collections on the 1st and 2nd floors pale in comparison to the Islamic art on the floors above. If you only have time for a partial visit, don't miss the 3rd and 4th floors.
