On a Wednesday night a full restaurant could not be covered by only 2 wait staff. Took ages to get drinks after ordering (something you notice when the table that arrives 5 minutes later than you is served first). Gourmet pizza was pretty average. Prices and atmosphere are good, but the service and food need to come up a scratch.

2 of us dined at Nyhavn (Spiseri & Onotek which I think is Restaurant and Bar) as business guests of Danes who lived locally. The restaurant is opposite the main row of fancy restaurants and down some steps so nice and discreet. 3 of us had the seafood in tomato soup which was odd as the soup was bouillon or consommé but tasted strongly of tomatoes - very nice anyway and the 4th person had the a sort of vegetarian charcuterie which was so generous it would have done as a sharer for 2. For the main courses 3 had pizzas and one a vegetarian dish. The seasonal special signature pizza was described as being with Parma ham and prawns but in fact arrived with smoked salmon and ricotta cheese - staff apologised profusely and offered to change but we decided to try and it was yummy. For sweets we all had the rhubarb and ice-cream which came old style glass jam jars - see picture. We got complimentary shots.

I have visited earlier (about a year ago) and had a great experience then.
This week I got terribly disappointed. We were a party of 9 people and to make it easy for the waiters all of us ordered the same menu. Antipasti as a starter, followed up by a pizza.

We got antipastis but no bread and as the antipastis is mainly cheese, sausage and tapenade, it would be natural to have bread along with it. After asking for bread (twice!) the waiters finally managed to bring it for us (not apologizing). When asking for tapwater we got one bottle for 9 people to share.
Not once the waiters came to check up on us - It was very hard to get their attention.
Food was generally alright but it was the worst service I have ever experienced in a Copenhagen restaurant.

I booked the restaurant based on the positive reviews here on TA. The restaurant is just across the more popular and sunny side of Nyhavn. It was quite busy and I don't know if a reservation is necessary or if it just was a busy night.

The restaurant is located in a basement and there are wooden tables and metal chairs, and it has a rustic industrial look. One of the few things I didn't like about Nyhavn 14 was the fact that it was in the basement.
It also felt a bit small and dark, and the ambience was not as I'd hoped. It was more grotto, than cozy. I also thought the place had an uncomfortable smell..

We had the three course menu with some kind of antipasti for starters which was quite good with a mix of olives, cheese, sundried tomatoes and other things. Our main dish was pizza which was very good and the dessert was a rhubarb dessert with sorbet and was the chefs grandmothers special recipe. A rustic, tangy but good dessert.
All over the food was very good and the wine was nice. Service was a little slow and it seems like they're a bit understaffed.
The prices are not too bad either, and I'm sure it's much better value than on the opposite side of the harbour.
