“Bakken; for the family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

Bakken Amusement Park is the oldest existing amusement park in the world with great traditions and a history, that dates back to 1583. If Tivoli is the biggest tourist meeting point in Copenhagen, Bakken definitely is the popular local hangout. No english translation neither at the entrance nor inside , not even on restaurant menus but you eat better here for less and it is authentic. The park is not as fancy but my children enjoyed the park more, there are certainly less lines to wait...

“Old fashion theme park”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

This theme park reminds me of when I was a child - and now we are talking some 30-40 years ago! Forget 3D rides and enjoy some classic roller coasters and bumper cars! However, I personally do prefer the more modern stuff, so I was not too impressed. We were there a Monday mid-Aug and the park was more or less empty so no queues at all. A lot of eateries, and not too expensive either.

“A great family attraction”

We were two families I'm this park, and we had a great time there. The entry was free, and a ride ticket to ride almost anything was quite cheap as well.

“Fun, Fun, Fun”

You may know Tivoli, but Bakken is different. Outside of Copenhagen, it is actually a green park which "accidentally" also homes an amusement park. Sure, the rides are old, but they are awesome. Just a bit too short for my taste, and also a bit expensive, why I only give four stars.

“Something for everyone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

This amusementpark has something for everyone, even though I'd say that smaller children like it more, there are a lot of things for them to do.

There are loads of restaurant and cafés and they're more reasonably prices than Tivoli. There is no entrance fee either, even if parking costs 60 DKK per car, which still must be considered a reasonable price.

There are also a lot of games that even adults tend to like, so the adults can play when the children go on rides.

On the plusside is also that there are different kinds of tickets, if you have really small children there is a pass for younger ones which only works on the child-attractions. So the price range varies depending on what kind of rides you want to go on. You can also buy a number of tickets or pay cash by the entrance to the ride instead.

To sum up:

+
Free entrance
Great for smaller kids
A lot of different games

-
Free entry can make it a pickpocketarea, beware!
Toilets have a caravan-feeling and are not the most clean ones - however they are free.
