“Still good, but then there is the noise from the corridor”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

Just to put it clear, this is our favorite hotel and we keep coming back. Great service, great ecolocial allergy friendly breakfast, great beds - so everything should be perfect - except for the fact that you will here boots clamping and suitcases rolling in the corridor if you try to sleep late. No carpets in the hallway, and old wooden floors not the best combination. But here is a great tip room 421. We moved there after the first night. And always grap an ecological apple on your way out.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for the room where the headrest of the bed are not on the wall facing the corridor.

The beds! This was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! I genuinely felt excited about the prospect of settling in each night, with a good book, & feeling sleepy after a session of steaming & soaking in the spa. The beds are firm but there is a soft, futon-like mattress on top of the main mattress that gives you good support but a soft snuggly nest at the same time. It really was bliss! We stayed for 4 nights which made the purchase of spa access good value - there is a dry sauna, steam sauna, cold plunge pool & a jacuzzi. Fresh fruit & nuts are available on a help-yourself basis, as are jugs of water. Reviews on Trip Advisor, & the staff at the hotel, raved about the breakfast so we gave it a go. It was a bit disappointing, actually. The scrambled eggs and bacon are served on a large, unheated plate and so are cold. Cold scrambled eggs are OK, but cold bacon with a layer of congealed fat is not so great. The selection of meat & cheese was good but I would have like to see some hot items (including hot bacon & eggs!). The staff were very friendly & helpful - really lovely people to interact with and were certainly one of the best bits about our stay. The rooms are lovely but, in typical Copenhagen form, very small. It is as though someone has calculated, to the cm, the exact minimum amount of space that 2 people need in order to exist in a room and to these exact specifications the rooms have been constructed. Overall, good value for Copenhagen, especially with the spa, but eat breakfast elsewhere.

Spent 3 nights here and would have happily stayed longer. We booked a Superior suite but was a little disappointed that the room only had a Bath with hand held shower. When we asked if we could change rooms to one with walk in shower, it was no problem and we were delighted with the room we were given. The hotel is in close proximity to the station, you can walk there and Tivoli Gardens which unfortunately were closed during our stay in January. The hotel is stylish with Balinese design throughout. Superior rooms have four poster beds with 2 single mattresses rather than one king size, which were extremely comfortable. The staff were wonderful, friendly and warm. When we arrived the restaurant was closed for a private party, but the restaurant Manager brought us a huge plate of delicious tapas dishes cooked on site as she knew we were hungry. The staff were so lovely, felt like a guest in someone's home not a hotel. When we checked out they even invited us to stay in the reception and take advantage of the free tea and coffee and cake for as long as we wished. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and as a much cheaper option to the extremely expensive Nimb, as it's probably as good without the pretension .

This is something one should experience. Distinguished design and organic materials. Staff is very friendly and food is good. The location is pretty good, close to the Tivoli gardens. The closet is in the bathroom, which was quite unexpected.

This hotel is very special in its concept and its conception. The design of the rooms is stylish, original, and if you know Bali already ... Single rooms are a bit too small, but enough for a one night stay. Very well positioned, close the main train station.

Very nice and friendly boutique hotel a few minutes walk from the main train station, the conference center, and Tivoli. Rooms are small and spartan. The best feature is the all-organic, freshly made food - outstanding! My one complaint is the towels - they are made from a rough material and are almost like sandpaper.

Tripadvisor has no ranking in-between average and very good, so I gave this 3 stars, while it really deserves a "pretty good" rating (not exactly an average rating).

Pros: The superior room is small, but it really is quite charming. The bathroom is actually the same size or even bigger than the bedroom and is quite inviting (large tub and separate shower area).

Breakfast is quite good. The hotel prides itself on using almost 100% organic materials and the food they prepare in the adjoining breakfast room is quite good. The servers are also extremely attentive and all had exceptional english speaking skills.

Cons:

Way overpriced for what you get. They have a spa for guests, but you must pay an exorbitant amount for it. If you don't pay for it, there is nothing extra in the hotel at all. The rooms themselves are far from superior in the classic sense of that word.

We arrived at 7 a.m. after a long flight. We knew there would be no way to get into a room right away, so we dropped off our luggage. Well, at 2 pm, after zombie-walking through the entire city, the room still wasn't ready. Standard check-in times in all of Scandinavia is an AGGRAVATING 3 p.m., and they really stick to that. If you are just coming from a flight overseas, DO NOT book this hotel for your first day. You will not be allowed to sleep until 3. At 2, after indicating that our next move would be to eat brains as we were becoming the walking dead, we were told that our room would be rushed and should be done in 15 minutes,. However, it was still close to 3 before the room was ready and they did not inform us when it was done - we had to go up and ask repeatedly on our own. There was no actual effort on their part to accommodate us at all. In true fashion from what I have seen from Danes and Swedes, there was no attempt at kindness or going out of their way to help us. Cold, aloof and uninviting.

The towels in the bathroom are horrendous. They are the type of new age recycled crap that barely gathers water. You WILL be putting your clothes on with a wet derriere and back. Guaranteed. Bring your own towel.

The hotel is very far away from most of the things you'll want to see (museums, the mermaid, good restaurants). There is even a sex club almost directly across the street to ruin the atmosphere. However, it is very near Tivoli gardens, so kids may appreciate that. of course, then again, there is that sex club across the street to dash the family-safe feeling.
