For British travellers this hotel is like a Travelodge before they were renovated. Basic but clean with all essentials but no luxuries. The corridor of our floor had been renovated and was very smart. Beds soft but a bit too little support. Very cheap pillows. Just on the wall shower gel/shampoo in one. Tiny paper cups for tea and coffee and very limited supplies - no decaf, only one coffee whitener - no milk, a few fruit teas, one earl grey. Wasn't restocked in our 3 night stay. Towels changed daily - had a bath mat the first night but that disappeared the next day and never returned as did our friend's from their room. We asked for a quiet room and were given a very quiet location at the end of a corridor away from the lifts. We looked into the courtyard - some noise around 10-11pm from neighbouring flats and the hotel's smoking area but could hear nothing with the windows closed. No noise from neighbouring rooms or corridors. Breakfast is good - lovely choice of rolls warm from the oven, crisp fresh mini croissants and mini pastries. Good selection of cheeses, hams, fresh fruit and salad items. Scrambled eggs, bacon and mini hot dog sausages also available. All restocked quickly. We didn't have a problem getting a table even when the hotel was full though the area is fairly small. Helpful friendly staff on reception. Ideal location - 2 minutes from the station which has direct trains to the airport. Don't use the metro to get there - you have to change to the S trains as the link to the station is still being built. The new metro has made a building site of the town hall square and other parts of the city. Was easy to walk to all main sites, we got the S train out to the little mermaid and walked back. Also went on the canal trip. Meat packing district just round the corner but we found it very expensive. Liked the Cafe Apropos just round the corner from the hotel, lovely food at all times of day and night at normal Copenhagen prices. Station shops handy for snacks, drinks, sandwiches, pastries. Easy to catch the train out to Roskilde to visit the Viking ships and cathedral where all the Danish kings and queens are buried, the modern art gallery or Helsingør. This hotel is absolutely fine for a weekend stay. Was the best value we could find for our dates as prices in the city are high. We enjoyed a visit to the Glyptotek on a rainy afternoon - fabulous Impressionist paintings collected by the founder of Carlsberg.

Have stayed in CPH several times in the last 10 years and find the hotels around the city periphery are all pretty similar. This was no exception.

Had a double room, (think Premier Inn style if you're from UK), simply furnished with decent bathroom, TV, plus the usual tea/coffee facilities. The only complaint being we don't like lemon tea, preferring traditional with sugar & milk etc. We didn't ask, but I'm sure they would have accommodated our tastes if we had. Towels changed each day. Individual duvets on the comfortable if slightly soft, double bed.

Breakfast; typically continental plus the option of Scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, sausages etc.
As is the norm with some of the older hotels here, the breakfast area is a little small but we didn't have to wait for a table on any morning so didn't see it as a problem.

Lobby area ok, plus a pleasant lounge area with comfortable seating for waiting for friends or taxi etc.

Secure luggage storage with monitored cctv which we were allowed to use even though we had checked out but were not flying until much later. Much appreciated.

For those who find some of the Scandinavian culture a little extreme, be warned, there are a couple of clubs catering for the adult male and also a couple of shops offering products for the more adventurous in the bedroom, all within 300mtrs of this and the other hotels close to the central station. But didn't bother us, nor were we disturbed by any noise from the street below our room, except for the street cleaning machine in the morning.

Copenhagen is a lovely city, easy to get around and this hotel is perfectly placed for easy access to the Central Railway Station, Tivoli Gardens and the Stroget for the fashion conscious shopper.

We rarely give any hotel an "Excellent" review rating as there are always little things that could be better and this hotel is no exception; but overall , we found it comfortable, value for money and an ideal base for our weekend in CPH.

Room Tip: Higher floors take you above any street noise, so floors 3 /4 /5 are preferable.

Its the simple hotel that you can get if you want to stay at a place in the center of everything. It's walking distance to my partner's business conference venue and we get to take bus or train to everywhere we want to go. It's clean, though not very spacious. It's the kind of hotel you want to stay if you only ask for a clean and safe place to stay for the night.

The hotel was surprisingly good. The gentleman that checked us in had a lovely attitude and politeness about him...(a gentleman with slightly long hair in the evening) the room was ok nothing special but served it's purpose. The only negative was that there was no safe in the room. The breakfast was not too bad... selection of cereal, bread, cheese and ham, eggs and bacon. Fruit with a selection of juices. The waiter at breakfast was also very friendly. The location was great. About a 30 second walk from the station which was super easy to access from the airport. From here we walked all over the city. We did not take one single bus, taxi or metro. There was also several restaurants around the hotel as well as there being a restaurant in the hotel itself. The train station also had various restaurants and newsagents so you can walk there if you need anything. Just one small word of warning is that if you walk in the other direction from the train station you will be entering a red light district. This did not effect our stay at all.
