Copenhagen Star Hotel
Ranked #68 of 118 Hotels in Copenhagen
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Just returned from a trip to copenhagen and stayed in this hotel. It was in a good position, just a short. Walk from central station, getting a train from the airport. If there is a group of you, it is cheaper to buy a group ticket.

The hotel was clean, staff were helpful and friendly. I stayed in a single room, which seems a bit small, but good shower and room tidied daily. The only complaint was the pillow, which was pathetic, small and thin. Good breakfast and room to sit down inside in the evening, and room to sit outside.

We were lucky, we had great weather, and had a great time, would definitely return.

Room Tip: Double rooms were much bigger proportionately. Rooms at the back are quieter.

I suppose to be 2 nights but when I arrived, location is good near the main station but in the middle of the "bad street" you can imagine.
The receptionist welcome us with Avery bad attitude after u arrive my room lets say one if the smallest room I visit but the bath room was full of mold big black moldy spots all over.
The shower was so small to fit an average size.
The room was not clean and their was dirty staff on the wall.
Of course I left in the morning and look for new hotel.
I have to say that I usually check the tripadviser before choosing but here it's my first time the reviews weren't match at all the realty.
It's not 3 star hotel the receptionist said that one star is for location so it's barley 2 star.
I would never come back .

Dear isr76,

Let me apologize on behalf of our team for not exceeding your expectations when staying with us.

Unfortunately the room sizes vary, some of them are smaller than others and the other way around.

Thank you for providing pictures, I have taken the matter further to management.

Have a good day!

Stayed here for 3 nights with 7 friends. The beds were comfortable but the pillow inadequate. The breakfast was continental buffet style with lots of choice. Plenty of hot water and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This hotel is central so you do get some noise at night if you're on the main road. The double glazing cuts out the noise but is not so good if the weather is hot and you need the window open. It was glorious when we were there and I'm certainly not complaining about that.

Room Tip: If you are taking children, bear in mind that the windows are large and open out fully.

Stayed here with my husband and 3 adult children. Exactly what we wanted, clean, quiet, comfortable and within easy reach of all the sites. A short walk to the main shopping area. Literally around the corner from the main train station. Nice bar in the evening. Breakfast well organised and a nice variety of food. Only down side is no facilities to make a cup of tea!
Ate in Nyhavn one evening for a treat which was excellant.

Room Tip: Plan your days - day trip to Malmo very enjoyable - expensive place to eat, but good choices at good...

If you want an excellent location, clean rooms and fair price, this hotel can be recommended.

Do not expect anything above a normal hotel standard, but everything is clean and works, beds are OK, you will have free wifi that works, and helpful staff with 24h service at the desk.

Decent breakfast.

Room Tip: Even the rooms facing the street are quiet as long as you don't open the windows.

Stayed 4 nights and hotel location near train station (in station head for left luggage at far end of platforms and go down stairs and out door cross road and go left for 10 yds then take right - hotel about 100 yds up road on corner opp chinese - Foo Lam think it was.

Room tried 3 - 2 on 3rd floor strong smells in toilets, 2nd floor dglazing ineffective could hear traffic and street noise then got courtyard facing 412 bigger bedroom and bathroom and very quiet.(little tired though). (take travel kettle if want tea/coffee making facilities as none in room)Reception staff very helpful.

Breakfast continental style plenty choice for most folk

Plenty other hotels and rests in area and some red light activity - altho no-one approached us (characters with beer cans were plentiful). If you went right out of hotel and crossed road past Chinese and carried on a better area at end of road with lots of food places and no red light activity.

Copenhagen is very nice and very walkable for most folk.Coffee and cake ave £6 per person, main course and beer in Asian rests approx £15- £20 per person.

Rosenborg Slot worth a visit, Nyhaven lovely, canal boat trip good, Danish resistanceMuseum really good (closed 3pm on Friday and its free).

Malmo worth the trip some nice squares, old buildings to see and cross the Oresund Bridge.

Hotels in Copenhagen are expensive - cost was approx twice cost of 4 star Boutique hotel in Prague for example but thats the way it is .

Enjoyed stay in Denmark, trip to Sweden and Hotel was ok but would prob try another if went back

Room Tip: Highfloor internal Courtyard facing rooms- we were in 412
