I really like this hotel - and have been staing there many times over the years. First of all the location is great, right in the center of Copenhagen and within walking distance of most sights. Secondly nice, well kept scandinavian quality rooms - on 5th floor even with a small balcony. Third - a nice and friendly staff - should be a basic requirement, but is not always so. But - as always - there are things to do better from a customer perspective.
Do not arrive in own car. Copenhagen city is one mess of construction sites, which has eaten any spare parking - and it would be nice if then hotel would advice on parking on their website.
Breakfast area - although you are busy serving, try to concentrate on small things to improve the big picture. Fx. boiled eggs are cold, which is no surprise since they are kept in a plastic container! Bread is not fresh. Sorry to say, this has been the same over the years I have used then hotel - but it cannot be that difficult to get fresh bread each morning in a city this big? This aside - and it would not take long ton adjust these minors - it is still a commendable place.

Room Tip: 5th floor have small balcony - but can be hot in summer.

A lovely hotel and very central to the city. We were upgraded on arrival to a large double room which was so quiet, we thought the hotel must be empty! The breakfast room was very crowded but we always managed to get a table to ourselves. There was a very good choice of breakfast items - meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit, eggs and a good selection of bread and of course Danish pastries! The hotel is in converted warehousing right on the harbour and a nautical theme runs throughout the hotel with old maritime oil paintings everywhere. It is spotlessly clean and the hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. The hotel is situated in Nyhavn where all the bars and restaurants are by the canal. We used the hop-on-hop-off canal boats to see the city and found it a most relaxing way to travel around. We would recommend this hotel for a short break to Copenhagen.

We were extremely pleased with this hotel -- it was affordable, its staff was very nice, and the location was terrific. We walked and walked along the waterfront from here, and also walked to Rosenborg Castle and the other points of interest. Our room was small but clean and certainly adequate for the one night here. Breakfast buffet was bountiful and included in room price. One tip about breakfast: don't sleep so late you arrive at the end of the breakfast hours, as there were long lines at that time (we saw them as we were happily exiting).

This hotel is in a brilliant location only a stones throw away from the picturesque Nyhavn where you can grab a drink and a nice meal. The hotel itself is lacking any real atmosphere, this is mainly because it doesn't have a bar (only a couple of beer taps in the reception).

The rooms are clean albeit small. Watch out for the staff trying to promote/bully you into going to their partnered restaurant "the Customs House" which is across the road. (I wont discuss the restaurant in this review, in my opinion I would rather go to Nyhavn).

Overall a pleasant stay. More for the location than the hotel experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Sea

That hotel offers 3 categories of rooms, and the first (entry) one named Double room or Chambre Double, corresponds to rooms located at the fifth and last floor, right under the roof (we were told by a woman at the reception). They are very small, and as the hotel does not have air conditioning, in summer, temperature inside the room can go largely above 30° celsius. We were there in july 2013, and we verified that by ourselves. For a hotel displaying 3 * this is largely unsatisfactory. Avoid in summer then. Except if you are looking for hot temperature. Inside the room.

Room Tip: Do not choose Double room in summer

I stayed in Strand Hotel for three nights and can't come up with any complaints about it. The location is wonderful, the hotel is clean, they rent good bikes (125DKK/day), the breakfast is awesome with a wide selection of breads, cheeses and perfectly ripe fruit.

The service is quick and appropriate (not too friendly but that's the same everywhere in Copenhagen). They even cleaned our room during our breakfast - every morning! I've never had that kind of timing and service anywhere.

The bed is comfortable and so are the fluffy and soft blankets. The pillows are too thin but they brought more very quickly when asked so no problem there either.

I didn't give five stars because the hotel doesn't have anything special (in decoration etc.) but only for that reason. I will most likely stay here the next time I travel to the awesome Copenhagen, too.

Stayed for one night, but I like the area, and found this hotel rather nice. Rooms are decent sizes, and so are the bathrooms.

I did not have breakfast there, so I cannot make any comments there. I ate dinner at a nearby restaurant on the corner. There are many restaurants nearby, and the metro stop, Kongens Nytorv, is just a 8 minute walk from the hotel.
