This is a well-run hotel, clean, comfortable and extremely well located for seeing all the sights in Copenhagen. Ask for the superior room as for a few dollars more you get a nicely sized room. These rooms also have a little alcove just large enough for one chair with good views out the side of the hotel to the canal and a window that operates. The breakfast at 125 Kroner is actually a good value when compared to high prices at pretty much all restaurants. A bit of a scrum on weekend mornings though.

Clean, comfortable & patent staff!
I took a group of 7 on a manufacturing & training visit, we were looked after well by the hotel staff which made it a successful trip.
This hotel is ideally placed for a city break with only a 5 minute walk to the centre.

We stayed 4 nights in a standard double on the 5th floor. Our room was rather on the small side, when staying in the Strand one better knows the “Small Hotel Room Dance” when walking about – best solution to always have one person packed off to bed, leaving space for the other to move about. The room was clean, but has seen better days – cracks in the walls and peeling paint should be dealt with by the Hotel management. Our view was nothing to write home about, mainly the opposite wall and part of a court yard – the Hotel does however have rooms with a view to the waterfront. A defect light bulb in the bathroom took 3 conversations and 48 hours to be replaced, and the bathroom was not cleaned 1 day out of the 4. The breakfast is a rather boring and mediocre affair. No safe in the room, should you wish to utilize the Hotel safe be prepared to pay some extra...
The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful (not counting the light-bulb affair), and the Hotel location is superb, all main areas within walking distance.

Room Tip: Should you wish a room with a view, make sure your room is at the waterfront.

What makes this place really remarquable is the value for money you experience Here. Located at the waterfront of Copenhagen harbor, 5 mins walk from Nyhavn and 8 mins to the Metro station at King's Square (Kongens Nytorv), this hotel is a great base for any stay in Copenhagen. The interior of the hotel is quite maritime, the rooms are small and simple yes, but nice decent bathrooms, and above all, clean. Most rooms face a court yard, but I did not see this as a negative, rather it bodes well for a quiet stay. Only the superior rooms have harbor view. The Copenhagen Strand is an official three star hotel, but the service minded ness of the staff is more towards five. I have stayed at the sister hotel 71 Nyhavn (officially four star and more expensive), but the room quality here varies so much that it could spoil your stay (some rooms face a wall!). Copenhagen Strand is a much more sure bet and at lower decent prices. A sumptuous breakfast awaits after a morning jogging along the harbor front out towards the little Mermaid and back. As both the hotel and the harbor faces towards east, there is great sun during the morning hours (when it' there course!). Free wifi throughout the hotel. Will return.

Strand Hotel is located right on the canal near the Nyhan district. Hotel is near canal where tour buses leave and canal tours leave. Walking distance to great restaurants. Breakfast buffet included in room price. Buffet was good -- all the cereal, cheese, yogurt, nuts, hard boiled eggs, cold meats, breads and pastries you could want. Get a good deal on room on internet - $129 for a double. Rooms are clean, but very small. I was okay with that. Bathroom updated. Wood floors in room - cool old warehouse. Typical scandinavian bed - thin little mattress on what looks like a box spring, so if you are a big American guy - go to a US chain. Beds comfortable. Front desk staff helpful. Got their at 11 am and had to wait to check in, but they got me in my room at 1:30 pm. You can pay extra for a bigger room, but I stuck with my internet price.

I have tried a fair few hotels in Copenhagen as I traveled with business. This area is really nice and the entrance to the hotel sets the mood perfectly - cozy.
The front of house service was extremely friendly and personal. The rooms are perfectly standard, clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet was very good. Transport links are easy. I would wholly recommend this hotel.

This place is what the Danes would describe as "hyggeligt": very cozy. It's centrally located - if you come from the airport, I suggest taking the metro direct to Kongens Nytorv and walk about 800m. The hotel rooms are small but it's a charming place with a maritime feel that fits the area it's in. Given the central location and proximity to Nyhavn, it's very quiet. I had a room to the back which faced unit blocks and didn't hear any neighbours. Very clean with nice bathrooms, good breakfast buffet and friendly service. I'll be back!
