Our room was clean, a bit on the small side but quiet and bed comfortable. Bathroom fine. Breakfast typical modern Euro. My only gripe about the hotel was the lifts. They were totally inadequate for a hotel this size.

We stayed three nights at the Strand before embarking on a cruise. It is very convenient to the attractions in Nyhaven, but that is its only real virture. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful to the point of being rude. The rooms are adequate and clean. We had a second floor room that faced a cobblestone alley. Every morning @ 6:30 a.m we were awakened by the rumble, rumble, rumble of a cart delivering something to the kitchen. Among places we have stayed, this has been placed on our NEVER AGAIN list.

On the plus side the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and the hotel itself stylish and in a good location. We had a family room which was good in many ways - clean, large enough (particularly as we have only one child) and nicely presented. The major problem was the noise - our room was just above ground level; we could hear people talking late into the night on the pavement outside and refuse trucks etc. very early in the morning (5am ish). This problem was compounded by having no air conditioning - it was very hot with the windows closed and noisy with them open (though marginally cooler). The noise problem was further exarcerbated by serious groundworks happening on the waterfront right opposite the hotel starting at about 7am - inevitably this type of machinery is not going to be quiet!! Consequently we didn't get much sleep over our four night stay. Shame really as, had it not been for the noise and air con situations, I would definitely recommend this hotel. We did enjoy Copenhagen despite these negative aspects.

Room Tip: Get a room with air con!

Great location on river and near canal. Hotel was overall good but our room was small and without airconditioning or a fan. On hot days got stuffy and the only ventilation was to open door to small outside patio. If it rained while door was open, room got wet, and it rained both evenings we were there. Several lights burned out in room and bath: reported, but never fixed. Room was not made up until late in afternoon both days. Breakfast, included, was nice and filling. Staff was friendly, but seemed unconcerned about room problems.

We stayed at Copenhagen Strand for few days and it had all the amenities needed. Our room was large and spacious extremely clean, air con was good to have as it was really hot when we stayed. All the staff from the cleaners to the admin where brilliant nothing to complaint . They helped with our trips giving us different options so we could decide if we wanted to go by tour bus or taxi and we used both options for different trips which was great. Being situated in the main square was brilliant, lots of choice for food or just sitting watching the world go by.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Unfortunately the hotel had 100% occupancy (200+ people?) and one of the two lifts was out of order. This presented a real problem at peak times. It also meant that breakfast was an intense experience. That said, the room was clean and quiet though the facilities are in need of a refurb soon. The staff were very helpful and the location is excellent, as in it's 5 minutes from the tourist madness of Nyhavn. The hotel offered free wifi but it only works in the lobby, not even in the nearby breakfast restaurant, and this drove us a bit nuts since we are internet oriented. I also recommend hiring bikes to see the city, much better than bus tours. And visit the Louisiana art museum, it's fantastic.

The location was perfect. I could walk to everywhere. The price was not expensive. The hotel also rents bicycles, which is the best way to see Copenhagen. The room was incredibly small, but that worked out ok because I only used it for sleeping and showering. The service was better than average for a Danish establishment, but that's only because the overall Danish service was not very warm. In summary, I would definitely stay here again if I return to Copenhagen.
