“Location, location, location!”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

Stayed here w/e June 21st, in a twin room facing the train station, with a small balcony on third floor. It's an old fashioned hotel in need of refurbishment however on saying that we LOVED it! The staff were very friendly and helpful and even helped me arrange a small birthday cake for my cousin as a surprise!
The noise of the trains was no problem and the beds were extremely comfortable.
Breakfast excellent and on until 11:30on weekends! The Library bar had live piano music with a very talented singer and the bar staff were also excellent Bonus of a well equipped gym if you haven't done enough walking around the city!
As my title says the location is excellent Would highly recommend this hotel! Reason for only 4* is it needs sprucing up in places.

We stayed in a family room ( 4 of us). The room was comfortable and functional. Don't expect any frills or nice decor. More importantly, it was clean. Free wifi was a boon as we carry smartphones. There is also a lift in the old building otherwise it will be a nightmare carrying our luggage up four floors.

Best thing about this hotel is the location which is about 50m behind the main train station (if you are arriving by train) and opposite Tivoli. But we didn't get any noise from the station. From the hotel, most of the tourist sights are within walking distance.

Breakfast was good and there was a quite a spread of hot and cold food.

The staff at reception and breakfast were polite but don't expect the extra mile from them. When we stored our luggage with them after check out, it was like "here's the key to the luggage room and please stow the bags yourselves." Basically, we had to DIY.

Overall, it was not a bad hotel that we wouldn't recommend. If you need accommodation near the train station, this is a good option.

We had a superior room, facing the canal (good) and the main railroad station (a bautiful building, with rare episodes of noise). Room was reasonably sized nicely furnished with appropriate amenities. Excellent soundproofing. Very easy access from the airport via direct train. Very good breakfast. Helpful staff, all english speaking. Very good downtown location. Expensive, but a good value considering the location. The hotel had a very convenient and cost-effective ixed-price contract with a taxi service to the cruise-ship terminal.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a family room.

The hotel was an older style with a smart reception, bar and breakfast room.

The hotel bedroom was spacious, with reasonable furniture and a comfortable bed, but I had complaints from my children that the sofa bed was uncomfortable. The room window looked out over the inner courtyard, so not much of a view and the small window made the room quite dark. The blinds and curtains were good and blocked out all light, so wasn't woken too early.

The rest of the room was a bit shabby, with wallpaper that was past its best, and patched up near the bathroom. The bathroom was quite small and the floor tiling grout not in a good condition. In need of a bit of a refurbishment / deep clean.

Breakfast was better than expected with hot and cold food choice and was reasonably plentiful.

The reception and breakfast staff were surly and not very helpful, I got the impression guests were an inconvenience and got in the way of them running the hotel.

Location is excellent 50m from the central station which also means its good for accessing Tivoli and a short walk the the centre of Copenhagen.

I booked this hotel in January for our stay 6th/8th June. We had an early flight and arrived at the hotel just after 11.00am, and greeted by the old chestnut, "you cannot book in till 2pm" I did ask if the reception could he make an exception,,no,,i asked if the hotel was booked solid,,,,no,,,, .!!!!!
The reception whilst good at their job should really try a little smile, honestly it helps, same goes for the staff on at breakfast.
We had a room on the 6th floor which was fine.
We went to a gig on the Friday, the concierge booked us a taxi but also gave us some numbers for the return, he was a very helpful man.

Room Tip: if your tall avoid rooms on 6th floor take some laughing gas

An older, well maintained hotel in a very convenient location, across the street from the central train station and a block away from Tivoli Gardens. The rooms are larger than average. The bath towels are huge and the bathtub is also large. It is located near shopping and restaurants and a block from a tourist office. It has ample closet space and a large, comfortable bed. They serve a very nice continental breakfast with lox, rolls, cheeses, meats, eggs, choice of cereal, Danishes, coffee, tea, and juice. It is a well kept up, clean, comfortable hotel with free wifi.

My husband and I recently returned from a Baltic cruise on the Eurodam. We decided to spend a night in Copenhagen the day before the cruise began. We choce the Copenhagen Plaza Hotel because it is located next to the central train station and easy to get to from the airport. We were quite pleased with the hotel. It is not a new hotel so each room is different. Although the bathroom is a little dated it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel has free wi-fi and a big screen TV. Our room had a small balcony that was nice. Although our room faced the street we did not hear any noice during the night. The breakfast is outstanding and the surroundings very pleasant. The location is excellent for the Tivoli and other tourist sites. The staff at the hotel were helpful, giving us a recommendation for dinner and calling a cab to take us to the cruise port. We would stay there again
