We loved the way they had kept so much of the wood throughout the hotel in its original state from the buildings original use as a warehouse. The hotel had a comfortable and buzzy feeling bar and lounge area, quite rare in a hotel of this size in my opinion.

Very interesting old building with nicely appointed rooms. The staff was friendly and answered all of my tourist questions and didn't even blink when I locked myself out of my room at 2:00 AM and needed assistance with that. The location is brilliant, you have a nice view of the water and are perfectly situated to walk everywhere and see all of the sights. Moments away from Nyhavn to the south and Amalienborg Palace and Kastellet to the north. Even the Central Train station is only about an 20 brisk walk through the fascinating city.

Love this place! although some of the rooms are very small, I would always choose to stay here. the interior design is amazing, maintaining the theme of an old wharf but in a very modern and classy way. Location is awesome - super close to the upscale part of CPH, close to the buzz of Nyhavn, yet calm and right on the water.

All was fine except the noise. We could hear people snoring in the next rooms. That is not acceptable in this price range.(......just.filling.the.space.to.reach.the.minimum.of.200.characters.........)

Room Tip: avoid the first floor room above the restaurant. they are very noisy.

So cool! The staff are friendly, rooms are very historic/maritime themed, some with truly stunning water views, and and the food at the restaurant is amazing! Highly recommended! They even upgraded us to a 6th floor suite and sent my post cards for me. Can't ask for much better!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the Sound side so you can see the water!

Very nice hotel in old warehouse, beautifull redecorated. A bit out of the center but very close the best steak restaurant in town, Mash. The rooms are a bit small but that's due to the orginal buidling.Very good breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Try to reserver a room with view on the river.

The hotel is a converted warehouse located slightly east of the central area of Copenhagen, convenient for the port area and ferry terminal. The Royal Palace is nearby, the Opera House opposite across the water. Arrival is "self service" with no luggage help evident.
Reception was friendly, but a slightly early check in resulted in receiving a tiny room one half the size of normal rooms. That said the room was pin tidy and had a good bathroom. There is free wi-fi. Exposed beams reveal the heritage of the building and the designers have had to squeeze corridors between the elements of the structure. It's a little dark and claustrophobic. The rooms at the front face a road which can be busy, those at the back face onto the water, but with varying views.
The breakfast was very good indeed, with a vast array of choices hot and cold, and a highly positive team making sure everything was topped up.
If I visit again I will be sure to ask for a normal sized room - the location and good breakfast recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a full size room.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
