Just returned from 2 nights at The Admiral. The hotel is in a great location and looks incredibly stylish from the outside. A warm welcome greeted us and the reception/bar area was modern and inviting. Unfortunately the rooms did not match up and our room felt a little dated. The bathroom in particular. We expected more for the price. When we arrived there were only towels for 1x guest and we had to ask twice for additional towels to be brought to the room. Also we appeared to be in close proximity to some kind of service area and there was a constant noise of conversation and crockery clashing together. Not so relaxing. It was an ok experience but we preferred the city to the hotel and would explore other options if we were to visit again.

We had a great one-night stay here. I would recommend choosing the deluxe room, harbourview upgrade, well worth the cost. The rooms are spacious and the view was good, although there was some heavy construction going on. Lies near Amalienborg en the harbour. An excellent location to explore Copenhagen. We saved the mermaid and watching the changing of the guards after we've checked out. Turned out to be excellent planning.
Staff was very helpfull and friendly.

From the outside the hotel looks stylish and cool, and so do the reception and bar area. Once you enter the rooms its a different story - old bathrooms, old beds, old and limited towels, poor sleep quality, aged noisy heating systems ... I could go on. The MAIN PROBLEM however are the thin walls between rooms. The hotel is an old conversion from a historic port warehouse to a business hotel - in order to cut costs the wall thickness was obviously minimised. As a result I could hear my one neighbour snore all night long, and the next nigh my other neighbour hold conversations on his mobile phone - disastrous ... I WILL NEVER RETURN!!!

They did an outstanding job of converting this late 1700's warehouse into a hotel. From the outside the hotel is quite plain but amazing when you see the interior. Rooms are a little small but still functional and well appointed. Salt Restaurant in the hotel is excellent.

We stayed at Admiral Hotel with my boyfriend one night in December. Really enjoyed our room, friendly reception personnel, excellent central location. As it was a special occasion for us, we got a room upgrade and a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival. All was wonderful!

Room Tip: Junior suite is great!

We stayed here on a FREEZING cold weekend in January. The room was on the water front which was nice but due to the fact that a 30Km wind was blowing straight out of the east it was a little cold.
The staff were ever so helpful and moved us to a room on the sheltered (downwind) side - and from that point on everything was cozy.
Good food, very helpful staff, good location for all of downtown Copenhagen.

We had a family group of 24 that visited Copenhagen in July.
Breakfasts were fantastic,
Beer on the patio was excellent
And dinner was excellent
We really enjoyed the rooms that were built around the heavy beams from the original structure.
Excellent atmosphere.

Room Tip: Perhaps avoid rooms over the entrance as the windows are open in the summer.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
