“Cozy and Quiet”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

This was a Business Trip and was booked to stay in this hotel. The hotel building has a long history with it and one can check it on the google itself.
A warm welcome and courteous interaction offered by the frontdesk team made the arrival pleasant after a long and tiring flight.
The hotel staff is very humble, kind and cheerful. Looking at the hotel's age one can imagine the hardwork put in by the staff for its upkeep and cleanliness. The rooms are quite decent and compared to some other restaurants are big, the windows are small but believe it was to ensure the heritage building is not modified and retain it's original design.
In some of the rooms there are wooden pillars in between but rather then obstruction they add a heritage touch. The hotel does offer free WIFI for its guest and is quite fast.
Unlike most of the hotels nothing was offered complimentary i.e. bathroom slippers, toothbrush but can be purchased from the vending machine in the hotel itself.
There was no breakfast available as part of the stay, probably that is how the booking was done. But the hotel does offer breakfast and also has a nice restaurant called "SALT" where one can enjoy good quality and sumptous meal. Had a dish containing vegetables and Venison's (deer) meat which was awesome and would suggest that one must try this, unfortunately can't recall the name. The hotel's ambience is wonderful and takes back you to the OLD era. This hotel is smoke free and hence one would have to come down for a smoke.
There is some extension work going on but really not affecting one's peace or stay at the Hotel.
Since self had to leave very early in the morning the frontdesk/reception team did a quick checkout procedure and also assisting in booking a cab. Usually one can find cabs waiting outside the hotel or same can be requested to be called with the assistance from the reception team.
The hotel rooms were also well maintained definetly due to a good team of people who have done their task with responsibilty. Coming back to Hotel from office always found the room was cleaned and arranged perfectly and gave a homely feeling.
Self was staying in room facing the Opera House, water way with small ships and yachts moored alongside which was nice rather than looking at the street.
The Hotel is well situated in the centre of the city, most of the major attractions and restaurants are at a walkable distance. Shoppers too need not worry as malls and shops they are in the same vicinity.
A lot of colleagues coming down for Business trip had positive reviews about this hotel and self will not disagree with them after staying here.

Room Tip: The rooms on the backside of the hotel i.e. facing the opera house but probably with a wider window.

Me and my partner have just returned from 2 nights stay here celebrating a birthday. We stayed in a standard room and paid approx £250 for 2 nights.

The pros;
Friendly reception staff, efficient check in.
We had river view, was nice but it is a working docking area so be prepared for that.
Excellent room service, food was delicious!
Great location, a few minutes from Queens palace and mermaid statue as well as most other attractions. We didn't use public transport once.

The cons
Not really cons more just observations to be noted.
Bathrooms are small and quite basic, not luxurious, but spotless and functional.
No ironing board or iron in room.
Mini bar is electronic so don't move things about!
You can hear a little noise from footsteps above you.

Check out was quick and easy.

In summary, we enjoyed it and would return and maybe upgrade next time too see what's different.

Had a brilliant long weekend stay at the Admiral, room was spotless, staff polite and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was beautifully fresh and constantly replenished by the staff. Would certainly stay here again.

Nice beds and clean. The only disadvantage was the percipientness. Breakfast buffet was
good with a lot of fresh fruit and bread.

For tourists - one of the most convenient hotels in Copenhagen. Within walking distance are the main points of interest, good breakfast (with lots of fruit). Before the hotel parking charge, but seats are limited. The rooms are quite comfortable, I advise to choose windows on the street - on the promenade in front of the hotel is under construction. Upon arrival kept 290 DKK over the room to cover possible damage from the guest (as explained).

We spent last weekend at the Admiral Hotel and found it perfectly adequate and comfortable but lacking in the charm that I had expected from looking at pictures and the website. The location is good in the Neuhavn area near to some lovely restaurants and less than ten minutes stroll to the metro. Our room was comfortable but the bathroom was a bit dated and a range of previous occupants' hairs in the bathroom indicated it wasn't quite as clean as I would have expected. I also had cause to complain on the Saturday night at midnight as there was a loud party going on which we could hear clearly on the 4th floor. We had been warned at reception that it would be going on and asked if we minded having a room above it but as I indicated that I was pregnant, very tired and needed to sleep well I did not expect to then be situated directly above the party.
Overall I expect this was pretty good value for a Copenhagen hotel in a good location, given how expensive the city is, but I came away feeling that the experience did not quite live up to my expectations.

The location of the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel must be the best in the city! And the hotel itself is one of the best, too, with its brick and beams packing house interior. Most of us that travels enjoy a good meal, also, and you don't have to go far. Not only is the hotels own restaurant, Salt, a good experience with mid-priced top quality food (the service is great, too!), bur out the door, and you will find a lot of good places to eat danish "Frokost" (actually; lunch), or a full dinner. I will definitely bring my loved one there again!

Room Tip: Room 407 is nice

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
