“Central, nice rooms, poor service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

Weekend in Copenhagen for shopping and food experiences. Refurbished rooms, but not rest of hotel. Quality of rooms are ok, but service not good. We was told at checkout that hotel rooms booked through Tripadvisor is not included breakfast. We as not aware of that issue, but was treated as we were criminals that have tried to sneak away without paying for it. Very poor communication skills and a lack of humbleness.

Admittedly we upgraded from a Family Superior room to a Junior Suite (includes breakfast) and stayed for 5 nights, but couldn't be happier. Huge room, great bathroom (with a weak shower), free WiFi and within walking distance of the Tivoli, Stroget and the central rail station. Wonderful choices for breakfast, very helpful professional staff.

Stayed for the week end with my teen age son. Modern building, well kept rooms, good breakfast. The room was paid for by somebody else, so I cannot comment on value. The service was not very personable, but 100% professional and correct. This is a good hotel alternative for a straight forward good quality room/bed/breakfast in a central location close to the Tivoli, Central Station and other downtown attractions.

Copenhagen is a wonderful but expensive European city. It has become a major destination for visitors from around the world. There are many different kinds of accommodations at many different price levels. We were extremely fortunate to select the Imperial Hotel. Its location is excellent. A city bus stop is right outside the door. An S-cog train station is just across the street. The Central Station for all of the city's excellent public transportation systems is just two blocks away. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all of the major central city attractions and just three blocks from Tivoli, the city's historic family recreational park. The hotel is extremely clean with rooms that reflect the modern smooth furniture and appliance designs for which the Danes are famous. Our room had an open balcony overlooking the city. Rates are reasonable within the context of this expensive city. A restaurant and bar are on site but we did not go to them. The staff was friendly and helpful, and of course most people in Copenhagen speak some English. Despite being told that the Danes are standoffish and unfriendly, we found the opposite to be true. People were ready to help with directions and recommendations. The Imperial Hotel is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony.

Imperial Hotel has a superb location! Short walks from the main city spots, Tivoli, Stroget, Hard Rock Cafe, Absolut Ice Bar, among others. If you enjoy walking around, its also possible to visit the little mermaid statue and Churchill park by foot, otherwise, there are two convenient train stations just outside.
Breakfast was included in the corporate rate, and it was nice, with many options and also a hot buffet.
There is a Italian restaurant at lobby, which serves very good pasta with the convenience of staying in site when tired. Bikes for rent are available at main entrance to explore the city in a Danish way. Highly recommended for business and pleasure trips.
