“Great locations, modern rooms.”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

I just stayed in this hotel with my family for 1 night in August. The location is excellent - right next to Stroget street (main pedestrian shopping street), right across the street from Tivoli and walkable to Nyhavn, Rosenborg Castle, Christiania and many other of the main attractions in Copenhagen. We had a room facing the street looking at Tivoli. The room was very modern and new. The shower was separate from the main bathroom and was very large with a nice rain shower head. The room was clean and we had a great, small balcony that overlooked the street. There was a fair amount of noise at night since we faced the street and a clock was chiming very frequently from the town hall across the street.

The reception and concierge was very helpful as well. The price was pretty expensive I thought though - $350 a night for a standard room. Overall, the Palace Hotel was a great place to stay based on its excellent location and comfortable, clean room, however there may be other options that are less expensive if you are on a tighter budget.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the courtyard - it is much quieter.

Stayed here mid week in August and had a room overlooking the back of the hotel - lovely view down a cobbled street but the noisy drunks meant I woke up throughout the night. I had both windows shut but it didn't help much.
Eventually at 430 am I rang up reception to ask them to move on three noisy drunk women who were arguing loudly sitting on the flower tubs outside the hotel.
The hotel staff at reception were friendly when we checked in and the breakfast was good. But unless you get a decent night's sleep it is hard to appreciate it. My colleague who had a room at the front of the hotel had a similar problem with music loudly playing outside the hotel until the early hours.
The room was large and the bed comfortable. The decor in the corridors is a bit grotty but it wouldnt take much to brighten it up.

Room Tip: Ask for one which does not get all the noise.

Very nice hotel, Staff are so friendly, helpful and smiling, the location can't get better, Tivoli is the best place to stay at especially that the longest pedestrian shopping area in Europe "Strøget" is only number of steps away from the hotel. the room is nice the design is cool as well regardless that the hotel is very old. still the experience was amazing .. I love it

Title says it all. No extra space in rooms but, great wifi service, good TV and available channels. Nice bath. Old timely and quaint. I like it. Available food service I would rate as average , the breakfast buffet could use some fresh fruit.

The location of this hotel is perfect. Right next to Tivoli on one side, and the start of the shopping area on the other. As business traveler it was of no real good use, but if you come here for leisure or you have some spare time, it's a nice spot.

The room size was good, but the sound of the airco (which was off)/venitlation in the bathroom, was annoying. Also the bathroom was badly cleaned, as there we some obvious remains of the previous guest in the bath tube.

The decoration as well as the bed were fine, but a thinner blanket would be appreciated. The hotel was really proud at it's heritage and their startdate (which was some 60 years ago). Unfortunately, the wireless internet was probably of the same age, because it was extremely slow. I've tried multiple devices, but it was plain rubbish, of no use at all. I've tried it in the evening as well as the morning, but problems remained the same.

Since I want to cleanup some work in the evening in the hotel, I won't book this hotel anymore, since it doesn't provide you with the basic connection you need.

Room decor is very good and seems to be recently renovated. The location is excellent, between Townhall Square and the main pedestrian road (Stroget). The cozy atmosphere ended with loud music and truck noise all night long coming from the backstreet: soundproof was really inexistent, so we couldn't sleep at all. That' s not acceptable in a high level hotel. Breakfast was tasty and the dining room also pleasant.

Room Tip: NOT on the backside (facing Mikkel Bryggers Gade)

It started with great service at the Front Desk. Everyone there seems attuned to making your visit work well. We were located (by good fortune) on the 5th Floor. Large nice room on a very pretty concierge floor. Our room was quiet and very clean but if you have a front facing room that might not be the case. As is ordinary in many Scandanavian countries, A/C is not needed but if you open your windows you may experience noise. The breakfast was good, generous and nicely presented. The dining room was pleasant and large. The location is busy but with good access for walking, trains, Tivoli, shopping. Consider it a little like staying on Times Square.

Only very minor comments - the lobby could use a face lift and the elevators are a bit old and tired but got the job done.

We would certainly go back.
