“Perfect location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

We stayed 2 nights prior to a Norway cruise. The room was clean. Staff friendly. Buffet breakfast was very good...several choices. Good cheese! We arrived by city bus from airport. Only a 5 minute walk to hotel from Radhuspladsen bus stop. We were able to walk everywhere in 1 day to see the city. Tivoli right across the street. Close to Hard Rock Cafe and many other restaurants.
Room was quiet, facing inner courtyard. Bed comfortable. Bathroom clean and roomy. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here with my wife and 10-month-old in May 2013.
The location is a little on the south side with most of the museums and shopping and harbor sites to the north and only Tivoli and Carlsberg of note to the south. I still give it 5 marks for location though.
The room is not too fancy (we paid for a larger room to fit the baby crib) but appeared to be clean and cosy. Perhaps because we paid for a larger room we had a beautiful view of the Radhus square and clock tower, with a small balcony, which was nice.
Breakfast was fine.
The staff was efficient and helpful. They had the baby crib set up in our room BEFORE we checked in and did not charge us for it.

Some things that may not appeal to some visitors:
1) The clock tower (of the Radhus) chimes every quarter hour EXCEPT between midnight and 8am. So if you sleep outside those hours AND are a very light sleeper AND would be bothered by this, maybe you should choose a different location altogether.
2) There was some jack-hammering construction on the other side of the square between midnight and 2am on a couple of nights. This would appear to be a bigger problem than (1) above, if they aren't done with whatever they are doing (and if the hotel continues to not heed and not lobby for such ridiculous work hours).
3) The lobby is rather non-descript and devoid of grandeur. Meh.
None of these three things really bothered us much, but others may take note.

Room Tip: Pick the larger room to get a view of Radhuspladsen. Pick a smaller room to avoid the noise of the R...

We spent four nights at The Palace Hotel in Copenhagen with a wonderful view of Tivoli Gardens and the plaza. The room was modern and nicely appointed. The staff were great, especially reception. We had a great view with a small balcony and could watch the action in the square looking over to Tivoli Gardens. While the lifts are very slow (they can't be updated as it is a heritage building), it didn't detract from a wonderful stay. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Get a room with a view to the front. Excellent!

We stayed at the Palace for 2 nights following a 9 day Baltic cruise. We booked through their online site & got a discount + breakfast buffet. We booked a superior with a courtyard view and it was perfect, large room with king bed, good size bath with tub & good size shower, you might ask for a larger blanket as the comforter doesn't cover 2 well. With the courtyard view we heard no street sounds and the tower clock stopped at 10 pm, but it did start at 8 am. Its location was great, a short walk to 2 rail stations and 1 or 2 stops from the metro that goes to the airport. It was also close to several museums, attractions, & shopping. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant had really good food, & the breakfast buffet was plentiful.

Room Tip: Courtyard view is quiet.

Friendly bar staff and great location but for the money not worth it. The incredible level of noise prohibits sound sleep. This was very troublesome and was not averted despite my repeated requests for a quiet room, as other reviewers warned of noise. Also, flies were in the room and there was some poor housekeeping whilst here. I'd avoid the property.

Room Tip: Noise is a big issue - pay attention to where your room is. Side alley rooms or rooms facing the mai...

Checked out of the Palace Hotel Copenhagen this morning and I am very happy with our stay. We stayed in an Executive Room and after reading reviews here I asked for a quiet room. We stayed in 129 which is at the back of the hotel, very clean and well appointed. The only downside is that the bathroom is nice but has one major flaw: every time you shower the water goes all over the floor, there is no floor drain to take it away and the water flows straight for the door.

Breakfast in the hotel was nice with a good mix of food, including bacon and eggs for those people who don't like a Scandinavian breakfast.

We stayed for 7 days and I would have no hesitation about staying here again.

The Palace has undergone a facelift. The rooms are well designed, roomy and decorated in a cool fashionable way. The bathrooms are wonderful...spacious, rain shower, nice toiletries. Walking distance to Tivoli Gardens...and a 20 minute walk to the harbor area. Staff was most helpful...breakfast was included and very good...barman was cordial...all in all a very nice place to stay in Copenhagen. One nitpick...don't think they've re-done the elevators yet...seemed outdated and a bit "rickety".
