Annex Copenhagen
Reviewed June 25, 2010

My friend and I stayed here 1 night. We came right from the airport and it is was very easy to find right from the main train station. The staff was unbelievably friendly and accommodating. Our room was nothing to write home about but it was clean and the shared showers and toilets were also very clean. We weren't looking for much and weren't dissapointed. Our room was located strategically enough that we were able to snag free wifi (you can also access it in the lobby). The breakfast was HUGE and really fresh and delicious, definitely a plus of this place! They had a luggage room to store our things while we explored and when it started raining they even let us just lounge about in the lobby while we waited for our flight.
It's not a 5 star hotel and doesn't claim to be, but I found the Absalon Annex to be clean, friendly, well located, and a great option for a quick stay in the heart of Copenhagen.

the receptionist was friendly and helpful. my friend needed to borrow an international power adaptor and he tried to search on for my friend.

the room.. however was an disappointment for me.. i wasnt expecting some grand room.. given that i only paid 550dkk for 1 night.. but i was expecting a modern room.. the room is quite run down and bare.. u need some effort to slam the door shut.. it does close if u close it gently... the table, television, wardrobe can be considered as antique.. there is a basin in the room.. we had to use the common toilet and shower for our needs.. i am not sure how many people had to use the common toilet.. but there was a lot of rooms and only 2 showering cubicles and 3 toilets... thankfully it toilet was clean when i used it..

the hotel very is near the train station.. approximately 2 min walk.. and it is near the RLD.. i would not have chosen it if i was traveling alone..

what i like most is the breakfast in the hotel.. the spread was sufficient..

and what i like least is the interior of the room..

We booked the Absalon Annex for Sept. 2009 however open arrival we were upgraded to the hotel, which was of course appreciated. The hotel is located within minutes of the train station, and although it is in the 'red light district' we never felt unsafe and never saw any shady business. It was close to all the major attractions, including the tivoli. Breakfast was included and was basic but good. It is a basic hotel with nothing special however it was a good price for Copenhagen and had nice, clean rooms. Don't expect luxury and you will be happy.

The location is really good and the Absalon Annex is a great option for a budget traveller: the rooms are very clean and the bathrooms in the hallway as well. We never experienced any waiting or such that you usually associate with shared facilities. Great breakfast, friendly staff - I would definitely stay there again!

Given the general unaffodability of CPH the cost was very reasonable, and the included breakfast that was shared with the main hotel was a very large and delicious experience. If you can smuggle some food out for later it saves a lot on food costs for the day! If all you require is a place to sleep at night then it's perfectly adequate. The shared facilities are fine. It is in the red light district but we were out at night and never felt scared (2 older females). had more trouble trying to avoid getting bowled over by cyclists. A word of warning- on Channel 1 on the TV in our room there was very hardcore porn which wasn't expected. Channel 2 in the Disney Channel....!

it's a nice hotel, not too big, not too small. the personal is very nice and we got a nice room. you can park your bikes in the inner courtyard which is loked. the breakfast is a big buffet which have all you want! ant of course the hotel is round about 3-5 minutes from central station away.
