“Great location, great Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

We stayed there with my wife last February. The Hotel has a great location with nice cousy restaurants nearby and Tivoli and Ströget is in walking distance. Rooms are nice and tidy. Staff was really friendly and we loved the breakfast. 5/5!

been there for 2 nights prior to cruising. got room way ahead of time and was allowed late check out. staff at desk very welcoming, fluent in english and professional. great location by foot from airport train - much faster from taxi and much much cheaper. ( exit the station the back door and go strait . close to tivoli city hall and stroget.

perfect location (short walk to central station, Kødbyen and a lot of cafes in Vesterbro), nice room (colorful, a bit small though, quality bath amenities), friendly & helpful staff (every single one we met during our 48 hours stay), good breakfast (a little bit of everything, danish quality food) - will definitely stay there again!

This was our second stay at this hotel in two years. It was great the first time and great again this time. The hotel has a great location right next to Central Station. It is located in the Vesterbro area of Copenhagen with many shops and restaurants. It is in easy walking distance to downtown and the sights. The hotel is very modern and in great shape; it opened in 2012. Breakfast is very good and has a good variety of food. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. We will certainly be back on our next visit to Copenhagen.

Room Tip: If you want to avoid street noise, ask for a room that faces the back of the building.

We returned to Copenhagen from a Baltic Sea cruise and checked in for the night to see more of this city. We couldn't have found a better place for the price and location. This third generation hotel was rebranded in 2013 and named after the grandmother, who also owns the Absolut Hotel kiddy corner from the 73-room Andersen Boutique Hotel. This modern hotel is located along a street of hotels on the edge of the Vestebro district, formerly a red light district, but lively with shops and cafes, bars and restaurants. It's walking distance to Tivoli Gardens and the major shopping street Storget. Judging from the luggage arriving with guests in taxis, this hotel is used to receiving ship passengers as well as the lighter train travellers from the nearby station. The rooms were small, (it is Europe) but clean and comfortable. There was no air conditioning and street noises could be heard all night if you left the window open. No phones in the rooms, but there is free wifi. The front desk staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Best lobby bar on the street.

Room Tip: We received a free upgrade without asking. The storage room for luggage was a bit crowded the mornin...

This was our first time for both my husband and I to travel to Copenhagen. It was a transit place for us to go to Iceland for our main trip. We stayed at Andersen Hotel for 2 nights and had a nicely decorated room facing the road. We did not realise that the location was also well-known for erotic shops and clubs, and had a culture shock when we saw ladies standing around the hotel waiting to be picked up. It could be a norm in Copenhagen given that they are the 1 st country to legalise porn. However, it was still a culture shock that we were in the 'zone'. No harm done to us and we're glad about that but we did find it quite noisy as there were drunk people, quarrels and cars with modified exhaust travelling up and down the road below our room.

Apart from the small glitches we had, the location was also fantastic as it's near to many restaurants, popular sightseeting places and Tivoli Gardens. Breakfast was great too and hotel staffs were definitely very friendly and helpful to us.

Hotels are pretty expensive in Copenhagen and I thought with the price I've paid, it was slightly under our expectation. Having said that, we're overall satisfied with the stay.

Thank you for a great review

The neighborhood might be a surprise if you are expecting a quiet residential area.

Vesterbro is a lively area with a bit of everything a cosmopolitan city can offer. I am pleased to read, that you also found it interesting with good restaurants and a very central location. The Meatpacking Area is worth a visit and The Fishbar is still a popular restaurant.

We appreciate you comments and look forward to welcome you back

Literally moments away from the train station, the hotel was very easy to find. Once again we managed to choose a hotel in what looked like the 'red light' district. The hotel was right next to a sex shop.

The staff were charming and of course spoke perfect English. We were given two room keys which we had to use to activate the lift going up. Our room was on the 5th floor at the end of a corridor. The view from window was of the internal courtyard. I was a little worried that it would be noisy. But I have to confess I did not hear anything. It was really quiet.

Immaculately presented, the room had a comfy double bed, a fridge, a safe, a decent sized wardrobe and a flat screen TV.

The only criticism of the bathroom was that there was nowhere to hang your towels when having a shower. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely though.

As our room was at the end of a corridor, I was not sure whether this had an affect on the wi-fi. It was patchy at best and we often struggled to get a connection. However, the wi-fi in the lounge was excellent and very quick.

The highlight of our stay was the superb continental breakfast that we had on both days of our stay. There was a good choice of fruit, cheese, meat and pastries. As well as juices, teas and coffees.

The staff kindly recommended restaurants and made reservations for us too. I would recommend that if there is a restaurant you are really keen on that you book it well in advance. A lot of the good restaurants were fully booked on Saturday and Sunday.

Overall, the stay at the Andersen Hotel was excellent and I would highly recommend this restaurant to you.

Room Tip: Quiet room on the 5th floor, overlooking the courtyard. Patchy Wi-Fi.
