Just recently stayed at The Andersen in advance of a cruise out of Copenhagen. Great hotel, with a very accommodating staff and perfect location for touring the city. You should spend a few extra dollars and upgrade yourself to a Junior Suite, as the regular rooms are a bit small....but that is always the way in Europe. Great breakfast buffet.

We stayed at the Anderson after taking an 11 day cruise of the Baltics. After calling ahead, the staff went out of their way accommodating our early arrival because of having to disembark the cruise ship in the morning, and provided a room when we arrived! The room was perfect, the location is ideal and within walking distance to most major attractions in the city, and we cannot say enough about the wonderful staff offering dining suggestions, places to go, and even which bus routes to take if you head out of the city. Karen was especially helpful, taking time out of her busy schedule to personally ensure we were enjoying our stay. Thank you for making our stay so memorable - Tom and Susan, Santa Clarita, CA

Thank you for a fantastic review.

I am thrilled to hear how you enjoyed everything about your stay. My staff are working hard to make our guests feel comfortable and happy while in Copenhagen, and we all love recommending places to see, explore and dine.

I am third generation running our hotels and named Andersen Hotel after my grandmother. She opened our first hotel in 1938 and I believe great hospitality runs in the family.

We hope you will return in the near future.

We stayed at the Andersen for 3 nights in August. The hotel is right in town within easy walking distance to Tivoli Gardens, the train station and the Hop on, Hop off city tour buses. It is surrounded by great restaurants and cafe's. The hotel itself is all new and very trendy. It was opened in 2012. The rooms are small by American standards but very comfortable including the mattress! It is not air conditioned as a lot of public places are not in Copenhagen. We had a fan in our room and the window open at night and we were comfortable. The buffet breakfast is excellent and they have plenty to choose from. The staff is friendly, helpful and in Sean's case, entertaining! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Karen, on the morning of our departure and she helped us carry our bags out! What else can I say? It was awesome! (Note: This hotel does not have a pool, but we were there to tour the city).

Room Tip: We stayed in room 75. It had a bathtub with a shower. Some rooms have shower only.

Thank you for taking the time to write an excellent review.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time and liked Vesterbro, the dining and the sightseeing opportunities in Copenhagen. The Canal Tour is another fun and interesting way to explore the City.

Our staff is our main asset and I am thrilled you found us both entertaining and helpful and we all look forward to welcome you back to Andersen Hotel.

with its funky interior this hotel is just something out of the ordinary.
small details like fresh water with mint in the reception area, free
I really slept well, probably also due to the silence! so nice!
situated in the trendy Vesterport area with absolutely fabulous restaurants and just a block from the main railway station it makes a change to the busy, touristy part on "the other side".

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the yard

Thank you for a lovely review.

I am positive to hear you had a nice quiet room and slept well.

Istedgade is a bit noisy these days due to a road renovation and unfortunately the work start early in the morning. There is no work during weekends.

The local restaurants are fun and offers a variety of cuisines.

We hope to see you back next time you are in Copenhagen

a real joy
this place while at first getting one a bit nervous about its location
is really a gem
from sean who greeted us and assisted us all the way thru to all the helpful staff on 24/7 to the breakfast people - to the really inviting clean and comfy rooms - to the great bikes available
this place gets a 9.5 - as i dont give out 10's and it does not have a pool or a sauna
if u need a really solid place to sleep and eat and go about your business or vacation in copenhagen then this place should really be up there

My review will be mixed for the Anderson Hotel. The pluses include location (within easy walking distance to not only the central railroad terminal but one block further is Tivoli Gardens with its many delightful restaurants; the breakfast buffet was plentiful and good; the staff very congenial; fresh modern decor.

The minuses are very small rooms; no airconditioning (and our room was HOT); very noisy not only from the busy street in front but rooms in back dealt with courtyard noise from adjoining apartments.

Reading other reviews it is obvious that the rooms vary not only in size but comfort. Some have bathtubs while others have showers within the bathroom protected only by a shower curtain; some have furniture other than an unusable chair.

If you are travelling during the summer months I'd recommend seeking a room at one of the many hotels along the same street andd look for one with air conditioning

Thank you for a very useful review.

Great that you find some positive points and liked the central location.

It is correct that our rooms vary in size, colour and bathroom design. Our guests are always welcome to request bedding, bathtub, back yard etc. and we will do our utmost to accommodate individual requests. We appreciate if you let us know if you prefer to look at various rooms upon arrival.

We hope your positive points beats the negative, and look forward to welcome you back in a large and quiet room
