Evening started out well. Cozy furnishing and polite smiling waiters and waitresses.(our waiter was a little over the edge happy, but ok).
In a party of 4, i ordered grilled octopus amongst other orders of Bisque and Shellfish plate for first course. My octopus tasted nothing of nothing less than rubber. It had a under taste og burn, because it was burned black, and the consistency of it was most lige solid rubber. It was totally clear, that the kitchen hadn't tasted this themselves and they didn't know how to preperate this properly.
The bisque was OK, however, it needed more lemon and more character... Didn't strike any nerves.
When we got the shellfish plate, it was clear that they had good commodity, but again, it takes a LOT to destroy a good lobster etc... Furthermore, i'm not a fan of the "Bistro Way" of serving oysters(without cleaning and turning them, just opening) But at the price Fishmarket sell their oysters, i think it's ok.
I went for a beef for maincourse, after my experience with the first course, and again i wasnt blown away. The beef wasn't as tender as you would have thought it to be, and the sauce and garnish just didn't nail it.
It all just seemed like either the chef didn't know how to do things properly, or that he just didn't taste the food. Note: We had 3-4 different waiters, and only 1 of them knew what was on the plates.
Other than that i had a fairly good cheese plate to round things up.
Wouldn't recommend this place to someone i like.
