“Very nice meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2013

After a flight with delays and lost suitcases, I didn't feel like going into town for my dinner. There are only a few main courses on the menu, and if you don't like fish, you have no real choice. But the lamb shank they served was really nice and well done. Prices seemed really high to me, but I didn't get to compare them with other Copenhagen prizes.

“Lovely Views”

The boat trips included with The Copenhagen Card are well worth doing and help give a perspective of the city.

“view from the water”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

A tour of the harbor in one of the many available offerings is a must to undertand the lay-out of the city and the mixture of old and modern. Choose a sunny day if possible. Not advisable for rainy days.

“I expect more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

Restaurant the Harbour is located in hotel Copenhagen Island. A bit tricky to reach since you have to go up to first floor to find the passage and then go down to ground floor to enter.

Restaurant is split on three floors - “half floors” - Bottom floor and third floor towards the water and middle floor on the inner side of restaurant. With the open layout and an open glass wall all three floor have some sea view.

Interior is nice but not cosy with same set-up as hotel, a lot of white surfaces, glass and steel.

Breakfast starting at 0630 and then you easily find a place. Coming at 0830 it is worse. Breakfast is OK and you have cold cuts, pickled hearing, bacon, hash browns, sausages and scrambled eggs. You also find yoghurt, milk and cereals. I normally do not demand much for breakfast but I enjoy smoked ham with thin slices of cucumber on top, neither was available during my last week there.

At lunch a buffet style meal is available. It consists of old cuts of different kind and then a few warm alternatives available. Together with this you find salad and a few types of bread. I normally enjoy eating pasta, potato or rice together with my lunch. That is normally not the option in the Harbour even though a kind of fried rice was available on my last day here. The pickled hearing is worth to mention as it is very nice but I have also experienced smoked salmon that has been ruined.

I have eaten dinner here many times but it has always been pre-ordered. I am not aware of menu if you just walk in. Dinners I have eaten have been decent but not more, nothing wrong but not in any way outstanding. Last time I had fried beef tenderloin and I believe it had been standing to long waiting. It became too well done on the same time as the surface loose the crispiness a newly fried beef has. I can instead recommend the Japanese restaurant on top floor of hotel Tivoli. I believe Tivoli is in same hotel group as Copenhagen Island and just a short walk away.

The staff you meet in the Harbour are very good but they are a bit let down by the offered food. Not to say that it is bad but I expect more. The lack of smoked ham and cucumber slices for breakfast is nothing I consider for my grading but maybe that is exactly what this is about. In the end every single customer makes their own conclusions based on individual expectations. You do not compensate lack of potato with some extra different kind of meat based dishes… if the customer wants potato.

“Perfect for New Years Eve Dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

Fantastic end to 2012. There is a set menu and accompanying wines/drinks (paid in advance) but very well prepared and served - not too much but tasty. There is a large slanting glass roof - perfect for watching the fireworks as you eat and drink!
