A friend recommended this place in the old (and still operating) meat packing district. Happy, hip staff and really good smells coming from the kitchen. We chose the dishes for the seafood--which we recognized--and trusted the mysterious ingredients--which we did not recognize--would work out.
They all did--cocktails, appetizers and desserts all fab. A rhubarb and spanish chervil cocktail was mouth-watering. No complaints about the G&Ts. Appetizers of scallops, king crab, and langostine as we've never had them but would gladly have again. Strawberries with smoked buttermilk for dessert. The big guy groused about the small portions relative to the prices, and we got another sphere of home-made bread to sop up the remainder of his smoked egg (which was accompanying the crab legs).
The waiter assured us that the main courses were larger. The rest of us were pleased with the quality/quantity/value ratio, and will go back again if we get the chance!
