Owner description: The National Museum of Denmark is the largest culture-historical museum in Denmark. The museum is a dynamic cultural institution offering a great variety of exhibitions and activities. Our artefacts come from all over the world and from different time periods. We can take you on a journey, traveling thousands of years through time and experience everything from the Danish national treasure the Golden Horns and the 3000 year old Egtved Girl to African masks and Egyptian mummies. In the Children's Museum, you can see and try things that show how people ate, worked, played and dressed hundreds of years ago in different environments.

I liked the items / collections showing history of different countries. It appears small from outside but when you get in each room you will find plenty of items.

Visited with my 10 yr old who was fascinated to learn all about the Viking period - well set out exhibits, brilliantly explained and very thorough.

“Very interesting, informative and great exhibitions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

We really enjoyed this museum, and learned a lot about the stone and bronze age etc. There is a lot on display, plenty of walking around, but it meant it was easier to get see the items and read all about them. The Danish history exhibition was thoroughly enjoyable, I really felt so educated and thus made my trip to Copenhagen so enjoyable.

“Fab museum and free entry.”

The national museum is in a beautiful old building. There is so much on display you would really need all day to see it all. Nice cafe inside so you can have a rest!

We came here one afternoon and although there were some interesting aspects I got bored quickly as there was so much here and also the english on the comments were the smallest font and sometimes quite hard to find especially when looking at small items
