Owner description: Copenhagen's Nyhaven, or "New Harbor," is actually steeped in a long heritage. Colorful buildings line the canal and hint at a history of small-vessel traffic. Like many ports, this strip has a salty history, rich with sailors, drinking and literary exploits. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen made his home in Nyhavn as well. It's cleaned up now and is a lovely place for a stroll.

“One of the famous locations to go”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

The locals love this area, and you can see the young Danish with their beers sitting on the edge of the canal. Lots of action, and a lot of locals go there. I went for a walk once or twice around the area, and also took a boat tour, which was excellent. One of the buildings used to belong to Hans Christian Anderson

“Our absolute favorite place in Copenhagen”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

This is the old-harbor area of Copenhagen, with colored buildings on either side of a closed-canal area in downtown. It is filled with small restaurants with outdoor patios, and several shops. On two afternoons and nights we were there, it was jammed with people. Just the place for hanging out, people-watching, having a meal and a drink. They had street music to keep it lively, take-away beers in plastic cups for people who just wanted a drink, and plenty of friendly people. Fun place!

“Buzzing”

Smaller than expected - but the place to be seen and to be part of "what's happening" around town. Lots of bars and restaurants overlooking water zone

“Touristy but worth a look.”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

We went on a beautiful sunny day and we were pleased we did. Nyhavn was quite touristy but a really lovely part of Copenhagen.

“Lovely for sunny days”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

Amazing to sit and relax in the sunshine along the canal. Restaurants are quite expensive though, definitely better more reasonably priced places to eat in Copenhagen.
