Owner description: Copenhagen's Nyhaven, or "New Harbor," is actually steeped in a long heritage. Colorful buildings line the canal and hint at a history of small-vessel traffic. Like many ports, this strip has a salty history, rich with sailors, drinking and literary exploits. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen made his home in Nyhavn as well. It's cleaned up now and is a lovely place for a stroll.

Like Amsterdam just more intimate and somehow more peaceful and enjoyable in the late summer sunshine...

This is the place that is displayed in all the brochures, and you can see why. Multi-coloured quant houses, sailing yachts in the foreground, and a wealth of restaurants to enjoy the view from. If you get to Copenhagen, you have to go and see it for yourself.

Lovely and colourful location in the center of Copenhagen. I was lucky to go in a weekday and find a sit, something impossible during the weekend. When sunny, the atmosphere is pretty cool, but maybe overcrowded sometimes.

Best for walking and admiring: I wouldn't bother eating anywhere round Nyhaven, as the restaurants tend to be tourist traps.
